You do not need the metal shim unless you purchase the more intricate doily dies. I have a big shot and several Papertrey Ink dies and they work fine.

You'll want to use the wafer thin die adapter as they are considered low-profile dies, too.

I want to use up my rewards and just checked out the zipper die... but not available. I hope they have what you're looking for in stock !

I have a Cuttlebug that is well used, and several years old. I have good luck with it using all the Papertrey dies that I have. I just use the regular die cutting "sandwich" that I use to cut Spellbinders dies. I don't have any of the intricate "doiley" type dies, though.

Gosh, Annette, maybe I didn't use the wafer thin die adapter with the BS. I use it with the Vagabond. dang. I think I need to go to Mission: Organization to figure out where to keep my memory!

Jessica, the info from PTI is: "The "sandwich" you would use with our dies and your die-cutting machine are the same as what you would normally use for Spellbinders-style dies."

So this post may be helpful to you: {capture the moment}: 5
Although I have no idea what the 'spacer plate' is!

and there's a video at the end of this post:

(ETA: looking at it now, I had forgotten about the 'tabs' on the big platform!)

HTH!

Nancy, I can relate to your memory issue, lol. I only have one die cutting machine, my trusty Cuttlebug, so I can keep track pretty well. Even then, I have a little card I keep with my Bug, where I've written the sandwich to use for cutting, and embossing. I can never remember that one.

I just started playing with my Big Kick [same as Big Shot] over the weekend and all my PTI and most of my Memory Box dies didn't need the metal plate. I only had to use the metal plate on 3 of the very intricate dies, all the rest cut perfectly without it.

I made a card too to keep near my CB. The one I can never remember is die cutting and embossing in the same pass. I don't do it often enough I guess.
