Hi girls, i was talking to a lady today in Australia who told me that her cuttlebug broke while using nestabilities, when she tried to get it fixed she was told that because she used nestabilities in her cuttlebug that they were not obligated to fix the machine.
Is this true?
I could have sworn that the cuttlebug could use a variety of diecuts.
just a question i'm puzzled with (as i use my nesties with my cuttlebug).
If anyone can set me straight on this matter that would be great.
Q: Does the Cuttlebug Machine have a warranty?
A: Yes it does. The warranty can be found in the User’s Manual. The warranty states, “Provo Craft will repair or replace this product within one year of purchase if there is a manufacturer’s defect. Return this product within one year of purchase to the retailer from which it was sold with receipt and packaging for exchange. This warranty is expressly limited to manufacturer’s defects and does not include any damage or defect caused in any manner after your purchase. This warranty excludes professional or commercial use.”
Q: What material will my Cuttlebug cut?
A: There are many different materials you can cut using your Cuttlebug. We
have tried the following cork, thin metal, thin wood, thin fabrics, thin felt, cardstock, Bazzill, poster board, chipboard, and fun foam just to name a few. The rule of thumb is to not cut anything that is thicker than the white foam on the Cuttlebug die. The Cuttlebug User's Manual states, "The height of your cutting materials should not exceed 1/8". Attempting to cut through materials that exceed this height may result in incomplete cuts and may negate the warranty.
Q: How do I use my brass embossing templates in the Cuttlebug?
A: We have had many requests about how to use brass embossing templates in the Cuttlebug machine. We have tested at great length how we can do this. Some websites suggests using a mouse pad or a foam pad between the mats, but unfortunately while testing these kinds of materials they have stripped the gears. Using material like these in the Cuttlebug machine will void your warranty. We will continue to test material here at Provo Craft and let you know what can be used. We would rather have our testing machines break trying out different materials, and have your machine stay in top condition.
I find it interesting too, by all accounts I have heard Provocraft has excellent customer service and can use almost any die, according to their site, they have a list of sandwiches that includes nestabilities. I managed to get a set of dies that had been mispackaged and was missing one, e-mailed and the response was which one, so we can send it to you. I have also seen on the cuttlebug FAQ on SCS where people's machines have broke, and they have called provo directly and had new machines sent to them.
I had an accident with Nesties in my Cuttlebug and received a new one from Provocraft. I had to pay to ship mine back to then. Their customer service IS awesome.
Now - if you try to fix your own machine and take it apart - that may void the warranty.
I bought my cuttlebug when they first came out= seems like years ago now. I will be the first to say I do not expect it to last forever, but I have been lucky and put all kinds of things through it, lol! Maybe some are just a little less stronger than others? Maybe hers was more than a year old?
thanks girls, i knew i would find out the answer to my question here. I'm thinking she may have tried to force it though and that is what caused the problem.
who knows. lol
thanks for your quick replies.
