Default promarkers?

I know a lot of people are using copic markers. But I've seen a lot of people using Promarkers on blogs. Does anyone use these and what do you think of them? How do they compare to Copics? And how do they compare pricewise?

Sorry about all the questions! I'd appreciate any help

thanks!

Promarkers are an alcohol based marker that works in a similar way to Copics, however, they are not all that better priced at about $3.50 per marker:

You can purchase Ciao markers for around $3.95 and they are refillable and you can replace the nibs making them markers that last forever.

In the long run, I think the Copics are a better value. JMHO

Thanks - that is helpful to know! I have bought a few Ciao markers but haven't had much luck with them as I didn't have the right cardstock. I didn't realize they were both comparable in price!

I am looking at different markers trying to find the right thing for me and I am having difficulty. I found a good site with lots of colours of each kind of marker but a huge price difference for each. The Promarkers are $3.29, Prisma color are $4.55 and Copic markers are $8.24 each. Now everyone says they are refillable and that makes them better value but this site has the refills and they are $10.48 each. I know at that price I would not be buying many of them so what is the best marker of the other two?

I am looking in Canada. I keep looking around and do see places like Scrapping great deals has the copics for 7.68 but that still to much. I have found them as low as $6.50 but they don't have a great selection. I'm sure they just sell out quickly.
If I could find a Canadian store that had a great selection for 3.22 I would be all over it. lol

If we order from The US to Canada, we pay in US$$s and while that is good now, only about 6 or 7% difference, the credit cards charge a further 2-1/2 to 3% and then the postage is higher.

Added to that, we pay $5 plus our sales tax based on the converted from US to Canadian price. This makes it a lot more expensive than those in the US who buy these items.

Our sales tax in Ontario is presently 5% GST and 8% PST for a total of 13% but soon we will have the harmonized tax which is always 13% then. At the present time, some items are only the 5% Goods & Services Tax and not the 8% Provincial tax as well. Stamps, postage types will also have a 13% surcharge; at present it is 5% so what you see on our postage is not what it is but higher.

Curry's Art Store (CDN) has Ciao copics for 3.99 and has free shipping in Canada for orders over $40. I am so seriously considering buying them with my Christmas money...
