Default Problem with Justrite Wooden Stamper

I just received my 1 5/8 wooden stamper and was giving the borders/centers a trial run. However, the grid that is attached to the wooden stamper (the thing you attach the borders/centers to) came loose from the wood base. I tried reattaching it but it kept coming off.

I think maybe the stamp cleaner that I sprayed on the stamps may have loosened the glue between the grid and the base but how else are you supposed to clean it?

Since I'm new to the Justrite system I don't even know whether the grid is supposed to be permanently attached to the base but I suspect that it is. How else would you keep it attached?

I searched through many of the threads here and couldn't find any info on my problem. Any help/insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Megan

I doubt that this is supposed to happen, mine are firmly attached & stay that way. I am sure that if you contact them they will replace it.

They have great customer service - contact them. They replaced an entire self inking stamper for me when I gave them the details of my problems.

Smile I had a similar issue...

as you with the grid coming loose, but with the regular stamper, not the wooden one and they handled my issue very fast, and went above and beyond to make it right! Excellent customer service!

I had this happen and it was actually on an extra base that I had so I just stuck it on a piece of ez mount and now I have an unmounted base as well as the wood mounted one.

It is supposed to be permanently on the wooden base. Wipe both the base and the back of the grid with alcohol, let dry and try adhering it again with a very strong glue (diamond glaze, gorilla glue). I clean mine with a baby wipe, just stamp off on it until the stamps are clean, especially if I've used the small text in the border (they don't fly all over the place that way). Good luck!

Thank you for all your input. I just wasn't sure if it was supposed to come loose like that or not. The customer service rep for Justrite contacted me first thing Monday a.m. (I had sent my email over the weekend) and told me they would send me out a new stamper. So the folks who said that Justrite's customer service is stellar were absolutely right.
