For those of you have both or have tried both Prisma Markers and Copics, are the Prisma Markers just as good? I know they are both alcohol based, but the Prismas are SO MUCH CHEAPER! I also like the fact that the Prismas have a smaller tip for detail work. After trying the Copics, I don't know how I would color in small areas with the brush tip. Thanks for any comments.
I think someone went over this awhile back you might try searching it. I think the main difference is that with the Copics you can refill them and change out the nibs and there are more colors. If I were you I'd buy one of each in the same color and see what I like best about each.
I have both types of markers. I like both but for different things. They both bleed but prisma seems to bleed less if your image is stamped with a pigment ink such as SU. The Copics make a smaller tip in the Ciao style of pens. If you shop online the Copic Ciao can be found for about the same price as the Prisma when they are on sale. I have seen them for as low as $2.99.

I own and have used both. I prefer Copic brand alcohol markers due to their refillable nature, and the fact that you can swap out the nibs if you want to, among the chisel, bullet tips, brush tips, etc. Prismas do not have a brush tip, and are not refillable. This does not mean they are not a good quality alcohol marker--they are! They just don't have the same options that Copic offers.
I intend to swap out the large chisel tips on my Copic SKETCH, which are the bulk of Copics I have, and replace them with the bullet tips. This way, I'll have the super brush tip on one end and the fine bullet on the other. That way, I'll have both the tip options I prefer working with on each of my Copics.
Below are more links regarding Copics, if they are of any help.
Just so I can enable y'all . . . I just spent the last several days in training as one of the new members of the Spellbinders Design Team (love my new Wizard, but I digress) . . .
We were the first design team EVER trained by an employee of Copic on how to use their markers, and we got to play with the airbrush tool attachment. It is DA BOMB, but really works beautifully with the chisel tips. It has some beautiful effects. I'll have to post some when I get home, as I am currently sitting in the Phoenix airport!

Just wanted to say welcome to Phoenix, it is a beautiful day here today...too bad you have to spend it in the airport!
Just wanted to say that I wish the "Copic" people (whoever they are) would release some kind of video...I LOVE my Copics but just feel that I could do so much more with them. I struggle with the blender pen.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, but since I am here I will say that I used to have Prisma markers (have since sold them)...the ink just does not "flow" like the Copics, they are just the best, IMO!

We actually got a DVD on techniques and projects. I looked for it on their website, but didn't see it. I can send an e-mail to our trainer and ask her if they are available somewhere . . .
