I tried this out last night with my scorpal. It works ok but I'm not really impressed with the "quality" of the piercing it does.

Default Comparison of Piercing Tools

Attached, hopefully, is a thumbnail of a comparison I did using the Excel tracing wheel (which I mentioned in an earlier post here), an old tracing wheel which I got with a Singer sewing machine back in the dark ages, and finally, the EK Success perfing wheel. All of these examples were done using the tracks in my Scor-Pal. You can see that each one gives a different look. I bought another sewer's tracing wheel not long ago (because I couldn't locate my Singer one, and the newer one doesn't give good results at all, so I didn't include it.)

Thanks dcorder for the You Tube video and also to uncbballfan for the demo. Your excel blade did a great job.

Thank you so much for that nice compairison. The visual really helps. I was just looking at the EK one the other day but wasn't sure how well it would work. I passed but after reading how it will work with the scor-pal I may just have to go back and get one;) Thanks for enabling lol

Thank you so much for sharing!! I had been thinking about picking up a set of the scoring bugs (single and double) from Wal-mart and I had heard you can use it with a Scor-Pal but didn't realize how easy it was to use together! Love it!

I like using the EK success one that is the double row of piercing on my Scor-Pal, in the grooves that are 1/8" apart. It works great to get that double row of piercing easily!

Oh good! I'm glad they aren't COMPLETE garbage. I was given them as a gift and they didn't work at ALL. Guess I have another excuse to get a scor-pal! yay!!!

Thanks ladies for all the great tips on piercing. I have been searching for the best tools to use and came accross this thread. I'm definitely going to buy the Scor-Bugs. I already have the Scor-Pal. Does anyone use the SU kit and what do you think about it?

Oh I'm so glad I found this thread. I have both the single and double line ones. They've been sitting neglected, but now that I've found they both work great with my Scor Pal, they'll be used regularly. Thanks so much for sharing this info!
