try an 'orange stick', its like a big wood toothpick. They are used in Nail Salons to pick up the tiny nail art rhinestones. You touch the tip to your tongue and use that to pick up and lay the stone. Orange Sticks are available in drugstores (pharmacies), big-box stores like WalMart, and Cosmetic Supply Stores (like Sally Beauty Supply), usually two or three in a pack for about a dollar
Or you can try a plain wood toothpicks (avoid coated or plastic picks). They are 100 for $1, and are less sturdy than the Orange Stick, but are easily disposed of when you're done.
I don't know if these ideas work for you, but at least if they don't work.... they were inexpensive LOL

I found mine at Archivers--it's called QuickStik and it's made by QuicKutz. I use mine all the time--it's perfect for postitioning tiny embellishments. I think the cost was about 5 or 6 bucks.

I was in Archivers for the first time about two weeks ago with my non paper crafting mom. She saw one of those at the register and thought it was a wonderful too and she bought one. She left the store before I did and when I got to the car she handed it to me. She just thought it was a cool thing to have. I really do like it though.

This little things sounds just like what I need! So can I find this anywhere else? Archivers is over 1 hour away:rolleyes:. I'm just lazy plus if I walk in the store it will cost me WAY more than $5!!;)
I used the Quik Stik @ my demo's house last week and it was great. It has something in it that makes your item stick to the end of the tool, easily moving it and leaves no residue. I am a tool geek so I will have one the first chance I have to pick one up.

This is what I use and I LOVE it! My LSS also sells them. I found that it is great to pick up eyelets, brads and anything that is small.
One of the girls at my stamp club had one and after she showed how it works, we all wanted one. She placed an order with someone on ebay and found one for all of for $6.39 including tax an shipping. Better than having to go to Archivers. I'd not get out of there with just one item.
Okay, I bought one from Amazon. I still have a few days left on my Prime account so I took advantage of free shipping. Can't wait to try it. Hopefully, it will save me some time and frustration!!
If you have any beeswax you can use a little bit of that attached to a toothpick or a tweezers. Just roll it into a small ball - it's just sticky enough to tack on to the rhinestone.
I have one of these tools at my LCS and I love it. They are $7 if anybody is interested I can pick some up just pm me and let me know and you can pay me thru paypal.

These are FABULOUS!
You've got the sticky end... the 'flat' end and the 'pointed' end when you switch out the flat end.... SO WORTH it! I use it for ALL sorts of things.
I actually feel lost w/out it! ;)
At first I was like, why do I need this??? But now I can't make a card w/out it!

I couldn't remember the name of the Quick Stick so I went into Archiver's & told the clerk I needed a magic stick. She led me right to it! LOVE mine! It's so awesome for working with adhesive rhinestones, especially those that are in a strip and you only want one.

I did nails for 10 years and this is exactly how I would pick them up to apply to finished nails just before the top coat to seal them.

Okay where was this site when I was trying to find out the name of the tool someone use in there Youtube video? I have been wanting it since I saw her use it about 3 months ago. Anyway I went into Archivers and was checking out and saw this tool in a cup at the counter and nearly had a fit. The clerk didn't know exactly what to do when I started to gasping for air in shock of finding it and not knowing that I found it. Oh so amazing. Now do they sell the refills for the sticky end?

I have a long pair of tweezers, got them from a medical hospital...they use them to remove stitches and for doing proceedures. (Yes, they have been sterilized!!) LOL....Tweezers work just fine!!

I've not had my QuickStik long, so far I love it - except, I haven't figured out how to change the flat end to the pointed end. LOL
I use the long tweezers from my serger most of the time. But I'm sure if you used a wooden skewer or a chopstick with a little dab of repo adhesive on the end, that would work also.
Of course you need the Quik Kutz silly-putty-like dispenser, quiker picker upper. She who dies with the most tools, wins! I love mine, and I really only get tools that I really use, really.

To the tool-challenged person who hasn't figured out how to switch out the flat end to the pointy end, I think you just unscrew it and flip and screw it back in. I know I tried it once, but after discovering the magic of the flat tip, I left it like that.
