Hey SU demos, any ideas, thinking about ordering this. What does it do and does it coordinate with the Cute by the inch stamp set (hostess)????? No where in the catty can a sample be found that demonstrates a sample of its use!!!!
I think the middle square is just one inch, to fit those inch stamps it says goes with it. So no, can't hold a gift card, just a cute little "inchie" type card. Hold on I'm loading the catty to tell where I saw a sample that gave me the idea that it's that small...
Ok on page 31, tied to that red stocking is a little "tag" that has a green square and says "holly" I think that's the punch but with only three flaps folded down so it's like a little envelope.
Anyhow that and the inch sized set being fitted to it makes me think it's like an envelope for those cute little inchie cards. So fun and sweet but not a gift card holder.

From what I've seen of it, it looks just like a standard petal fold. I've used them (hand cut) as embellishments on cards, sometimes to contain something small, like a few pieces of heart confetti or similar. But I've found that unless you indicate it's meant to open, some people won't realise!
I don't have my order yet but I can't wait to play with that punch. If you fold only two sides it will make a heart pocket that will fit the full heart. I have a few more ideas but I won't know if they work until I try them.
Can't wait to see some examples using the punch. I just ordered the "Cute By the Inch" set but held off on the punch until I get some ideas on how to use it! But I do like how it's used on pages 30 & 31 of the IB&C.
I plan on making something with the punch and the toothfairy stamp on pg 18 of the catalogue. It will hold a loonie or toonie perfectly. I figure i'll make up some and give them to friends with little ones that are starting to lose teeth. It will also make it easier to leave money under the pillow.
That's just the first thing i thought of when i saw the stamp and punch. I can't wait to see what others come up with. Everyone always amazes me on this site.

I'm also confused about what size punch would
fit inside the little envelope to add a message since SU doesn't sell a 1" punch.
What is with that? I was so surprised they added this card but not a 1" punch! And my SU! guillotine paper cutter that I LOVE (seriously the best paper cutter ever) doesn't make it super easy to cut 1" squares! I'm getting better at it though and I have this set coming Friday (but not the punch...talk about things that aren't too smart)...anyway I can't wait to see what y'all do either!!!
I have a 1" square punch from Creative Memories that i'll use with it. I just checked their website and I don't see it anymore so i'm wondering if it was discontinued. It has a 3/4" and 1" square.

SU! used to have a 3/4" square as well...can't remember if they also had a 1" but I dug out my 3/4" square the other night. I have a 1" square but unfortunately since SU! doesn't carry it, I can't demo it! I think the reason companies sometimes discontinue these punches is that feasibly squares are easy to make but I'd always rather have a punch myself!

Oh yes I wasn't thinking about Demos who want to use all SU product. That does make it a pain to cut them out with a cutter. Although I love mine it's a pain for 1" and even 1 1/2" cuts.
I wasn't concerned at all about not having a 1" square paper punch as I cut out the Cute by the Inch images with scissors easily. I also felt that I could punch out designs with the circle punches to go in the base of the petal.
Haven't played too much with it yet, but am interested in all of your ideas too.
darling ideas, love it! I didn't think I "needed" Cute by the Inch but now am wondering? lol! Had forgotten that SU no longer carries a 1" square punch...I have all of my old punches still and sometimes loose track even though I try to quarantine the retired punches on the bottom shelf to avoid using retired stuff for a class...so embarrassing when someone wants to order an item and I realize it's no longer available. lol! Your photo with the quarter gave me an idea that I know MY kids would love!
My kids always bug me for candy in the machines, the ones that take a quarter. I never have a stupid quarter. My mom sends them cards sometimes and tapes a few quarters in.
How CUTE to make a kid card and have a few of these envelopes done up on it and a quarter in each, then a note explaining that they can use their OWN money to get candy out of those silly machines. I bet opening the little envelopes would be like discovering treasure.
My kids are 4 and 5 and I'm CERTAIN they would be totally charmed by this inexpensive idea.

thank you thank you thank you!! for posting your blog. I have the punch---but didn't get it at all--didn't realize the sides fold in and hold together. (Sits in corner wearing dunce cap--college degrees fail me in reality!!! Now I get it
I've been putting a blog post together featuring product no seems to know what to do with and thought I'd share the list of project links I've found so far:
And thanks Erin for the great idea with the quarters. I'm thinking about using Vellum so they can see the quarter! I was thinking even postage stamps might fit inside as a hint to my niece and nephews to send me a note!
the 1" circle fits in the center of the petals, and so I've stamped the Christmas bingo bits and cut with circles, put in the squares, folded them up and put a 4 x 6 grid of them on CS to make an advent calendar.

This sounds like a fun project....do you have a picture that we can see?
I thought my petal punch didn't work. It was explained that I had to press hard, directly over the design. When I did that, it worked perfectly. It's a cute little bugger and I got the "Cute by the inch" stamps to go with. Love the idea of including a quarter in each for kids to put in the quarter gobbling machines that are almost everywhere you go.
