Default PERFECT POLKA DOTS VS SWISS DOTS

Hi Everyone

Just wondered if there was anyone out there who could tell me the difference between the new Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Perfect Polka Dots and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots? Are the the same or what is the difference.

They look very similar to me. I used the SU version this past week (I don't own it) and I own swiss dots. It looks like there are slightly less dots and they are further apart on the SU version.

Here is a card I made with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots:

WMW Rejoice for Today by Wendybell at Splitcoaststampers

And here is one I made with SU Perfect Polka Dots:

WMW A Rose for a Friend by Wendybell at Splitcoaststampers

You can see the difference in the spacing/amount of dots by comparing the two. The BEST thing about the SU one is that you can fit an entire A2 card front in it, whereas with the CB one you can fit a piece of cardstock that is 1/4" short of an A2 size in both directions ... hth

Thanks, Wendy - that's good to know! That's my one complaint about the CB folders - not being able to emboss the entire A2 card front with most of them.

That is true; however, you can still use the same folder and reposition your cardstock so that it does fit on A2. I have even seen where it is done on the next size up from 5X7. I need to find that link and include it in this thread. Beautiful cards too.

Thank you so much everyone for your responses. I appreciate you taking the time to respond my question. Wendy thank you especially for sending me the link to your samples so that I could see the difference, they were wonderful. You've all been a great help.

I have also been keen to know the difference between the two different brand embossing folders. Thanks Wendy for links to your cards - I love how you used the embossed dots on your flower.

Cheers

Oh dear. Now I need perfect polka dots! I'm forever lining up the folder again with Swiss Dots to get it on my A2 cards.

I've done up to 6x6 cards and 5x7 cards by lining it up again. It's actually the easiest folder to line up, but I'd love to not have to!
