Personally, I haven't had any good experiences with the Fiskars trimmers.
Right now I'm using the Cutterpede (large and small) with the interchangable blades (scorer, perforater, straight, deckle, etc.). I also have a big office style guillotine cutter. (And the Dreamkuts.)

But.... they start at $160 for the smallest size (12" x 12"). Although when I think about it, I bet I've spent more than that with all of the Fiskars and whatnot that I've purchased.

Right now I am using my Fiskars paper trimmer. It seems to do the job just fine. It was only $24 at Michael's (and then you have the coupon...) My friend has a big paper trimmer (it was around $40 or $50) and loves it but that is just too much for me. I like my little trimmer.
I know that the fiskars is notorious for cutting crooked, etc, but it really works fine for me. Plus the money I save not buying a more expensive one can go for more play pretties!
I love the SU Tabletop cutter! It's small enough, lightweight, and can shave off the smallest sliver of paper! And it can cut small pieces (like an inch) which some of the other bigger cutters can't (at least with accuracy and straightness.)
I just got the DreamKuts!! I bought it yesterday at the Portland Oregon Rubber Stamp Convention! I was so impressed. I got it from Rubbernecker Stamp Company (they are from Ontario CA) and the lady let me play with it. I wasn't planning to buy anything big because of money. I just spent money on becoming a SU demo, but because of that I thought it would save me some time being able to cut my card stock easy and straight. I have a fiskars small cutter and a large Rotary but both cut crooked. I believe that I may still to use them some but the DreamKuts will reduce it a bunch. It shows only cutting 12x12 but you can cut 8 1/2x 11 too in the single blade part. Here's a link to check it out. http://www.binditall.com/dreamKuts.html
Also I think it shows the price on there too. I got a break at the show I only paid $82.00 but I think it retails for $89.00 plus S&H if you can't get it at your retail store.
I have the genesis. It's fabulous but takes a year to get. Only cuts 1 - 2 pieces at at time. You might want to also check out www.ellenhutson.com Ellen sells the Creat a Cut which looks great -- has different kinds of blades, including a scallop one.

I have had a Fiskars large rotary style trimmer for years and have never had a bad cut on it. It also cuts 4 sheets at a time and I like that. It is still going strong. I think I paid under $20 for it and the blades stay sharp for a very long time!
I have the Tonic, which is the same one as the SU! Tabletop. I got it at Joann.com with either a coupon or free shipping - not sure, but that made it quite a bit less than the SU! one. I am loving it!
I absolutely love the SU! tabletop cutter! It cuts straight every time. I have tried 3 other types and have been so dissapointed with unstraight cuts. Plus you can cute more than one peice at a time, which makes it great for stamp-a-stacks,ect... I beleive it's around $45. Worth every penny!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the posts, ladies! I have the old-style Fiskars and I find the cuts to be crooked no matter how I try to finesse them... it's also inconvenient for cutting 12 x 12 paper. I am thinking of getting the SU Tabletop. I'm a new demo, so it can go towards my quota. That and 100 other things I "need."
I saw the Create-a-Cut on Ellen Hutson's page. I really think I would like this, especially the scalloped edge. She sells it, but only takes PayPal. I found the site for Nasco, the company that makes it. But they are out of stock, and the scalloped edge blade has to be purchased separately. Do any of you have one of these? What is your opinion? And where can I buy it? Is it worth the price? For a picture of what it does, go to http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/ellen...cut/index.html and look at the picture of the scalloped card. Beautiful.

Went Rotary!
I finally got a rotary cutter, I think the blades will last longer. I got the Carl Professional Rotary Trimmer. It retails for $40, but I used my 50% off at Joann.com. I just got it, but so far, so good.
