Default OTT Lamp

I have hit that age where my eyesight is going. I got new glasses and that really did not help. If I do not have very good lighting, then I cannot see well enough for cardmaking or scrapbooking, so I can only do it during the day.

I have seen that some of you like this brand of lamp. I work in my dining room (take up the entire formal oak table that seats 12) Do you think that this lamp is worth the money and which one would work best for me? I cannot decide between the desk and the floor lamp. I see that they also have lamps with magnification. Don't know if my eyes are that bad yet....

I like the desk lamp. Just incase you ever decide that you want to create a craft space elsewhere, it's very portable. Make sure you look for the Tru Colour lamp and not the one for reading.

Sounds like you need a portable lamp so go with the desk lamp. They really do help you see better. Sometimes my eyes get dry and "fuzzy" and it really helps especially on those days.

I have two Ott Lamps. I love them. My craft room faces north, so I don't get alot of natural light.
My desk lamps provide enough light even at night. They are pricey, but sooo.. worth it!
I got mine a Joann's with a 50% off coupon.

Default Ott light

I have 4 Ott lights. Two desk tops and two floor lamps. My one suggestion is to look for 18w bulb. Some have 13w, which is good, but 18w is better. My latest one has the magnifying glass. It's very strong. I don't think you can go wrong with one of these. I've been lucky to get all of mine with 40% or 50% coupons at AC Moore. Good luck!

I say go for it! You will not be sorry! But do look for either a sale or a coupon!

I have the floor model.....I have the 18 watt...would not want anything smaller than that.....definetly buy with a coupon....I paid 100.00 and that was with a 50% coupon from JoAn's. I think its just personal preference of wether you want a table or floor model. I didn't want to take up more space on my desk so I love my floor model..I just pull it over when I need it. And...if I ever start cross-stitching again, I can use it over my chair.

I got the desk Ott lamp at Tuesday MOrning a few weeks ago - can't remember how much but it was pretty cheap there.

I found a 13 W OTT True color Jupiter lamp with a magnifying "glass" that I fell in love with at Hobby Lobby. I didn't see an 18 W. With a 40% off coupon, it will cost around $75. I'll look around for an 18W and I'll check Tuesday morning as well.

Is there are huge difference between the 13W and the 18W?

My friend has several of these lamps. Desktop and floor models. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. They are so nice! I really would like to have one. When I work at night sometimes I don't get the colors right. Then I see it in the daytime and have to make changes! :( Has anyone found good prices for these via the internet? I live an hour and a half from the closest craft or fabric store.
