A while ago, I posted pics of my Danskos, all tricked-out with Sharpies and Copics, but I think I've found an even more unusual use for my favorite markers:
I used to color my hair, not just over the gray, but wacky, artist-inside-this-science-nerd colors, like purple, and red, and blue (all at once, in stripes, of course). Well, now I have this grown-up job (at almost 40, I finally have my dream job, an RN), and I can't be so... artistic... anymore.
That's where my Copics come in. Awesomely vibrant stripes, that fade by the end of the weekend... Perfect!!!!
I'd post a pic, but that would involve my face, which isn't happening...
Always looking for another use to justify my obsession... hehe
LOL... that's the spirit! Marianne Walker does that sometimes in demos... it typically rubs off on the pillow in a few days. I always show how I coordinate my jewelry for different outfits... coloring my silver watch band red to match my dress.... things like that! (Just wipe off with an alcohol swap and it's ready for the next night out!)

I hate that people can't express themselves these days because it isn't socially correct!! Just because your hair may be a different color doesn't mean you aren't less of a person! I deal with that everyday! The underside of my hair is bright hot pink and I love, and have several, tattoos! However, I am almost done with my degree in behavioral psychology. I am a very intelligent person and just because I have tattoos or like pink hair, doesn't make me less intelligent! I hate that stigma!
We recently purchased a large piece of pottery to put in our *newly finished!!* sunroom. The piece is about 2 feet tall and was purchased at Pier One. It had a few scratches on it from being on showroom floor so we got a 10% discount. I came home and used my copic markers to color in the scratches. It's like new!! I've also used them to color in the scratches of some of the wood parts of my furniture, colored an undied leather band, and of course white ribbon is colored to match my cards.
I color the knicks in the wood on my sofas with a black sharpie marker, works perfect! I don't want to use my good markers because I don't want any splinters to snag the nibs. I've also colored ribbons, perfect match!
I have to share this. When was a kid, my dad worked away from home at an oil facility. He had a week on, week off schedule, and had another crew there on the alternating weeks.. Since they lived half the or lives at the work camp, they got a camp dog, a yellow lab type dog.
This dog just loved to have it's head petted. My dad was on the phone one day and this dog just sat there looking at him waiting to be petted. My dad had one of those big, black Marks aLot markers and decided to color a bandits mask on the dog. It sat there, just loving the attention while he colored it and looked pretty funny when he finished. (she couldn't lick it and it wasnt too near the eyes, so no harm).
My son is in the 501st Garrison, a Star Wars costuming organization that raises money for charities. He needed to make his costume more authentic by adding some rivets, but it is a distressed finish and he didn't have the original paint. The show was that afternoon. Copics to the rescue! I colored those bright white buttons and rivets with several markers until it perfectly matched the distressing on the rest of his sandtrooper armor!
My daughters and I also use a brown marker to give ourselves fake henna ankle or wrist tattoos!
All these ideas are great and I love my Copics so..........I color buttons to match my projects, ribbon now I buy whites so I can die them to match my images. I use them to color scratches in my furniture and I had a window art that looked like stain glass it faded in the sunlight so I repainted it with my Copics. So many Copic's so little time.

Too funny to hear this mentioned because I actually airbrushed an RV29 pink stripe on my Mom's little white dog this past weekend! My husband kept saying we should have given her flames to go with the racing stripe!
I had the hardwood floors in my living room refinished, and the workman used a very pale filler on the nail holes - I hated the look of it. So I just took my Copics and went along and dotted over the nail holes with whatever shade of brown or tan most closely matched each individual board (it's an old floor with a lot of variation in the boards). Now I scarcely notice the nail holes. Luckily I have a large area rug over part of the floor so I didn't have to do the whole room!
