In regards to the Tim Holtz Distress new monthly color release, Oozak.com takes preorders. Their price for each set is $22 and some change. (The March color should be released soon but don't see that up for preorder yet. I guess it has to be released first before they wave the wand for us to buy!) They've been swamped with people preordering so Jan and and hopefully Feb will start going out Feb 25th. Its worth the wait to save $2-$3 or more on a set. You can also order individually much cheaper than any other place I've looked. Ordering all items individually still comes out the same as if you bought the whole enchalada at once.
Order Update:
I called today, just curious, to check on my order. Everything except the refill is in. They are expecting the refills around the 27th. If your order includes the refill, don't expect shipment until the 27th or later. I guess Ranger is running behind in production.
I love the intro videos. Aside from seeing the color right away I enjoy the comparison to the other Distress colors and I especially love seeing what you get when you blend the new color with existing colors.
From Tim's blog "if youre a fan of the mini distress inks too (like i am) those will be released every 4 months as a set of four"
So I just have to be patient and wait until April - but much better for me this way. All the other mini kits I already have one or two of the colours lol

Talk about a bunch of enablibers, we're all Distress junkies! Preordered mine. I love Tourquose, this will be one of my favorites. Still haven't received my Abandoned Coral, but can wait. The orders are being held up because the markers came in late. I love the notifications and ease of ordering from Oozak, hopefully the new color ships sooner than Abandoned Coral.
Finally the correct ink color for my DD's bridal shower invites and it's too late. Hopefully I can get my hands on the ink refill so we can dye ribbons for her wedding favors.
I haven't been able to find one that he's done for Crushed Pistachio. I'm curious as pistachio makes me think of the nut color, which is not the color the ink seems to be. Has anyone done a comparison themselves that you could post?
It doesn't matter how "different " or "not " pretty. I have a collection to complete !!! But I will buy them in a few months. I haven't even bought the jan or February color.
I rather like the new Fossilized Amber, it seems a little more muted than Squeezed Lemonade or Mustard Seed. Love them both, but they are very bright. I have to admit, I'm with Copperkidz, I'll have to complete the collection, even if I'm not overly mad on the colour, like the Abandoned Coral. Not keen on orangey reds, and I think many of the DI reds are leaning in that direction already. A couple more 'true' reds would be good, like Festive Berries. Just to show how slow the colours are in getting over here, the day the April colour was announced, my pre ordered March colour arrived, lol.
I wonder when the minis are coming out now that we have four new colors.
From Tim's blog:
Q: now that there are 4 colors released, when are the mini distress ink pads being released?
A: as i mentioned during the debut launch at CHA, the mini distress ink pads will be available the following month after 4 colors have been released. this means the minis for the first 4 colors will be shipping next month in may; then the next 4 colors in september; and the last 4 colors in december (since we didnt want to make you wait until 2016 for the final mini colors).
Q: will the new colors of the mini distress inks be sold open stock like the rest?
A: yes they will, but this will not happen until early 2016.

I was at work the other day and a lady had a white, black and light blue/green blouse on and the first thing that popped into my head was Cracked Pistachio.
Am I the only one who is rather UNDERwhelmed by the new colors? I did a pad storage makeover to allow for some new Distress pads; I was ready. Cracked Pistachio came out, and I just didn't imagine myself using it much - doesn't look like a color found in nature. I sprung for Abandoned Coral as I stood at the cash register, but when I stamped it in my swatch book it barely looked different from other Distress reds. Now I am standing back and checking just how close the new colors are to the old ones, and the two latest are just too close to existing colors. Yes, they are pretty - just not different enough. Eight months/colors to go, and I sure hope Ranger comes out with something that actually fills a gap in the Distress color rainbow.
I have to agree GypsyRoseStamper. I too think the Abandoned Coral is just another orange/red, which is pretty much what all the others are. The only 'real' red I think, is Festive Berries. At least one more proper red would be welcome. You can bet there will be at least a couple more browns somewhere along the line- you know how Tim likes his browns!
I'm underwhelmed too. The first three were nice, but as Gypsy Rose & Shaz have said, they are too close to other colors. This last one was gross to me. (If you've changed a lot of baby diapers, you'll understand. )

I'm really hoping for a burgundy or wine red... something like this year's Pantone Color of the Year (this year is Marsala). Something a little more vibrant than Aged Mahogany.
As for Fossilized Amber... well the name is much nicer than the color. I love amber, but I prefer it in orange/brown tones... not baby diaper as Scrapjanny said!
On another note, if you haven't seen Sandy Allnock's April Fools spoof video about De-Stress Inks, this will entertain you!

That's good to know, I luv the distress minis. I can wait until they release the sets and buy them with a coupon. I may purchase a few of the re-inkers to make misting sprays which I use on full sheets of cardstock to create coordinating papers.
