Default Nestabilities?

Are there any really good deals on nestabilities out there now? My parents were asking what they could get me for Christmas and I was thinking I'd have them get me a few sets as I don't have ANY yet. Also, I'd love to hear which sets/shapes are your favorites. Which ones you can't live without . . .
THANKS!

The petite scallop circles were the first Nesties I got, and I LOVED them!!!! The plain circles and ovals are nice too - the only ones I probably wouldn't recommend are the squares - it's just as easy to cut them out by hand. Hope you like whatever you get!!!

I don't know about bargains at the moment, but the best deal I've gotten on some of mine is at Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon.

I bought the large ovals and scalloped large ovals first, and have used them a lot. I chose that shape because I didn't have a good way to cut ovals (i.e., no oval punches large enough for what I needed). I've been using the rectangles and scalloped rectangles a lot on my Christmas cards. Within the last couple of weeks I bought the large circles and the petite scalloped circles. So far I've stuck to the standard shapes.

I've bought both the smooth edged shapes and then the coordinating scalloped shapes so I can layer them. I've found that Ellen Hutson's website did the best job of providing size information and explaining which sets to buy in order to get the type of layering you want. Here's a link to an example.

Excerpt: Nestability Dies - Classic Oval, Large --- Cut sizes range from the largest die - 2 3/4"w x 3 3/4"l to the smallest die - 3/4"w x 1"l.

To layer coordinating Scalloped shapes with either the same size shape or a 1/4" layer difference I would suggest the Classic Scalloped Oval, Large. To layer coordinating Scalloped shapes with either the same size shape for a 1/8" layer difference I would suggest the Classic Scalloped Oval, Small.

I heart papers has some great deals going on right now. And if you spend 40.00 you get free shipping. Sign up for newsletter and they have a sale going on right now and get 15% off all purchases this week. Just recently I got a few new ones... Labels 4 is awesome. You might want to start with circles. I also just got fancy tags, it is really pretty but I haven't tried it out yet! Happy shopping!

thanks for the info! I have the Big Shot and am wondering if I need the tan mat that is recommended? I have the impressions pad and the silicone rubber pad that came with a set of embossing plates for the Big Shot. Is the tan one the same as the silicone rubber?

I went for the regular ovals and scalloped ovals first - smaller ovals and larger scalloped because personally I like a bigger scalloped border showing. I knew I'd get circles down the line, but ovals are harder to handcut so they were my first choice. I think Labels 1 was one of my early purchases and I still use it a lot. Looking forward to my first deckle ones arriving this week.

Yes...get the tan at from Spellbinders...I have used mouse pads, plumbers gasket and a couple of other things and found I got the best embossing with the tan mat!

I have all the shapes, both sizes and the scallops...I really use the large sizes the most, so I would start with just getting the rectangle and oval large and large scalloped to match...

I get mine from Cut at Home. If you sign up as a VIP which is free they email you a 40% coupon every month to use on their site. I've been able to use the coupon on all the nesties I've purchased over the months. http://www.ucutathome.com/index.php

I got the Classic large & small scalloped and plain for my first few sets. Wolf Camera has one of the best deals I know of normally around $53 and some change for all (4) sets of one shape. Usually they offer free shipping for $100/ or more.

Good luck they really are fun & take card making to the next level I believe!!!

For those of you who have these...

I want to get maybe 3. I'm thinking of choosing between labels 1, 2, 4, 8 and the set of 4 Classic Rectangles with plain and scallop.

What do ya think? I've got several sizes of punches (plain and scallop) for circles, ovals, and squares for now...

I just received two sets that I ordered from Overstock.com last week with free shippping. Good price too. I was ordering some things for my son's apartment and was so surprised to find them in the craft section there.

I am curious what machine you have as I got the tan mat to use and I have had no luck using it with my CB. I have tried different recipes and now I just use it under acrylic stamps!

Me personally, I'd go for Labels. 1,4 and 8 if I had to choose just 3. I'd definitely choose labels over rectangles - it's easy to cut your own rectangles and I like scallops better with curved shapes.

I have the cuttlebug and I really cherish my circles and ovals in every size. Especially nice is to use small and large circles matting each other so you have small Mat-rings in different colours. I did so making this card:
