I hope someone will answer this question about nestabilites. I recently purchased the scalloped ovals and circles. (I think large size) I am really unhappy w the sizes. If you place a smaller one inside the next size there is too much difference in sizes. So the inside one could be larger--and you could get an image inside. Is there any way to get around this?? Do I need to purchase more in a different size grouping? Ive looked for info and not found it. Please help!

I bought my ovals/squares/circles/rectangles in a four pack and I often go to the other part of the pack to get the border I want. I don't know the ins and outs but it could be that you need the complimentary pack to get the look you want.
I just purchased my large petite ovals scallop and plain from http://www.scrapbookingalley.com/ which is a sister company to Ritz camera. They have the same pricing, but the shipping is free (for ground) no matter how much you purchase.
I placed my order last Thursday and they are scheduled to be delivered today... can't wait to use them.

I can help.
The Nestabilities come in 2 sized sets. One is "small" and one is "large". This does not have anything to do with the size of the scallop. The scallops are designated as either classic or petite, the classic having deeper scallops.
For each shape there are 2 sizes. Small and large. Imagine that your left hand is LARGE and your right hand is SMALL. As you clasp your hands together (fingers interlocking) imagine that is how the sets work together. So... you will have the largest shape from the large set, then the largest shape from the small set, then the next largest from the large set, then the next largest from the small set. They goes all the way down "interlocking" with eachother. So, basically the LARGE set has the largest shape, but also graduates down into smaller sizes. The only way to be able to properly nest them in eachother and have ALL the option is to have both the small and large sets, BUT it *really* isn't necessary (says the woman who has all the sizes in all the sets LMBO!).

Right now, they are 20% off until the end of the month.
They ship very quickly, too!
WOW! They are super cheap here! This is the first time I have seen it. Their prices right now are actually LOWER than 20% off. Nesties retail for $25 and they are selling them for $16.95. I guess they are selling them for 20$ off the price they offer, which is more like 32% off. Nice!

And like stated above scrapbookingalley has the same price but no shipping (Sweet)

I've gotten good deals for them at overstock.com, they don't have the brand news ones but they have oval, circle, square, etc. They have free shipping offers all the time (their normal shipping is only like $3 anyway) and sometimes %'s off too.

If you sign up with overstock they will send you emails with specials they often do Free or $1 shipping. Great option if you want to get some of the basics slowly but not be hit hard because of shipping costs.

I have been wanting to purchase the nestablilites for some time now. It seems to be it's a good time to purchase them the only problem I am having is which set I should go with. I love the fact of being able to layer them but didn't realize you needed to oval the large and smaller sets. Jody your explanation was great. Could they be layered just with the one set only?

You can layer with one set only. If you had, for example, the large scallop ovals only, you could layer them on top of each other, but the spaces between your layers is going to be a lot bigger than if you had the large AND small scallop ovals. If you had the large scallop ovals and large plain ovals, they don't seem to layer as well. Either there is very little space between layers (just enough for the scallops to stick out under the plain) or there is too much. I have just found it a lot easier to layer with the small and large of the shapes than if I just had one.
can someone help me with this? I recently purchased some of the new dies from spellbinder and the things won't cut through in my Wizard(raspberry) They go through my CB.Why bother bother buying the Wizard???

Are they the pendant dies? Some of the pendant dies need to be run through the machine once, then turned 90 degrees and run through again, because they are so detailed.

thank you for quick reply: yes, some are the pendants but also having trouble with the large sunflower. Have tried rotating the die and running through again. no luck. Funny thing is: they go through the CB with a shim. I read somewhere spritzing the paper helps. I'll try that. I have others that don't cut completely also(large scalloped shapes.) I'm getting frustrated and have sent e-mail to company for help. Btw, sorry for posting original message in wrong spot. New at this and green as grass!

It sounds like the pressure in your Wizard is a bit off. Have you tried shimming it like you did with the CB? It just sounds like the pressure isn't high enough, so it's not compressing enough on the die to get a good cut. I know the more detailed ones have to be done twice, rotating 90 degrees, but if that isn't working then my best guess is it needs more pressure. Don't force a sandwich through though, you can break your machine doing that.
I don't have a Wizard, so I'm just guessing here. And no big deal about posting this where you did! We were *all* newbies at one point
