Okay, I broke down on the advice of others to purchase the MM Precision Trimmer. I bought it today, and got it home and was SOO VERY excited to play. It worked perfectly- for a little while. On my 5th or 6th try, the blade went kaput! Has anyone had this experiance. To the best of my knowledge, the blade "jumped" the track and started cutting- or scraping in my case- along the metal platform. Thus, now the blade is no longer sharp at all, it makes me sad! The blade will not even cut a continuous line, there has to be a knick in it causing it to break at one point. The cutting is AWFUL! It basically scores the paper and makes very shaggy cuts.
Is this one just a lemon, or has anyone else experianced this???
This has to be a defective blade, or cutter, or both. Can you return it to the store where you bought it? That's the easiest fix.
If not, I have heard great things about MM customer service. I would email them right away if you can't return the trimmer for another one where you got it.
I've had mine for about 6 months and it still cuts just as great as it did the day I got it.
I'm so sorry. I know how disappointed you must be. Good luck. It really is a nice trimmer and I hope you can get this resolved.

OK - I bought one about a year ago and loved it. It was so easy to use and I had no problems until the numbers and grids started wearing off. I wrote to MM and they have been wonderful. They send me a new one and the same thing happened that you described. They had a bad batch so I wrote them again and received another one. I'm having the same problem. She said they corrected it and now they're sending me number 4. They did offer me other products put I love my original one, I just don't have the markings to cut. So I'm waiting on number 4 and this will be the last one. I would go to their website and contact customer service. They may take a few days to get back to you but they will. Also, there is a red button, if you slide it up it release the blade and then slid the blade back and forth and this will reset it and then push the red button back down. That may fix the problem. Good Luck! Dottie K.
Good Luck!
I appreciate the quick response. I will email MM's customer service and try to go that route first. I have heard such great things about this perfect trimmer and have been driving around to every M's I know of to use my coupon, and I finally found ONE on the self today, after my 7th M's. Im thinking either the M's in WA dont carry them anymore or they're just not restocking... Anywho, I really want to try this thing out so hopefully everything will work out with MM.
Thanks for the info, I have one and HATED it but maybe it is one of the defect ones. well it has to be because it rips my paper. I will email cs tomorrow. again thanks.

YES!!! This happened to me about 2 days after I got mine.
I took it apart (little red button pushes up/out, then the bar swings free and you can remove the blade).
Under the blade/bar was a tiny sliver of paper that fell into the track. I couldn't see it until I took the silly thing apart.
It's worked like a charm since then!! I love mine - not sorry a bit that I bought it!
