Default MM Cutter?

I've seen some people refer to an MM Cutter - and they seem to really like them!

Can someone clue me in??

It is Making Memories cutter. I bought mine at Micheals. The cutter is self sharpening which is fantastic. It has a magnetic ruler to hold the paper in place as you cut. I like mine & use it all the time. It is not good for cuts under 1 inch.

I love mine and have had it for about 9 months. The one thing that I don't like about it (and it is getting worse) is the measurements that I use often are starting to rub off. At first I couldn't figure out why my paper was getting smudge marks on it. I realized that the smudge marks were coming from the measurement markings. I don't know if you can spray something on the top of the cutter to prevent the marks from rubbing off.

I will say that I wouldn't hesitate in getting another one and maybe spraying it myself to protect the markings.

Love mine also, I thought I had ruined it trying to cut chipboard, a word to the wise, don't try, but I emailed customer service and they told me how to go about fixing it and it worked! The self-sharpening blade is fabulous!

about lilsisbet's comment regarding the grid lines coming off, you can contact MM about this and perhaps get a replacement. My grid lines have begun to come off and I am in contact with them about mine. I had heard that come of the earlier models did not have a clear finish on top of the surface which would have sealed it. Good Luck,

Susan

lilsisbet, definately contact their customer service about your trimmer. They are the best. My first trimmer wasn't cutting right and for some reason couldn't be adjusted. They sent me a new one. Last week I broke the plastic paper guard and called to ask if I could purchase one and they sent me one, no charge.
