I’m considering buying a misti stamp positioner, which size is most usable? I make cards and scrapbook and I can’t decide if the original or the scrapbook size is best. Thoughts?

I don't scrapbook but, if I did exclusively 12 x 12, I would probably invest in the large MISTI. I make cards and other items and use the smallest MISTI most of the time. I only use the regular size if I'm stamping something larger than a card front. You may want to consider the largest and smallest, rather than the largest and regular, as you could use the small one for most of the cardmaking, and the largest for instances that you needed something larger and for your scrapbooks. Whichever way you decide to go, I consider these "investment" tools, and money well spent.
I have two regular-size MISTIs. My main issue with them is that I like top-fold cards that are portrait orientation...so the card base is 11x4-1/4. Sometimes I wish I had a memory MISTI.
I think I would go the route of the big one...if you do a lot of stamping directly on your scrapbook pages. Cards are always possible in that size, regardless of the size of your card base.
Then, if you decide you want one that is smaller at a later time, then you can choose which size is more desirable based on how you stamp in the large one.
well, you probably do want to hear my answer but, I have three of the original size and one of the 12X12 size. I do not own any of the Mini's as I believe most of my cards will not fit into it.
I tend to make cards larger than A2 so, for me if I am doing a stack of card fronts I can set up this stamp in one and that stamp in another but, the finished cards say A7 will fit into a memory Misti without creasing the card if you want a sentiment on an edge.
I'm regretting this purchase. Cling stamps work great but regular red rubber stamps do not. I'm going through a lot of double face tape in order to get these to stick to the misti. What do you do?

I use stamping platforms made by other companies, and I don't have a problem with any of my stamps sticking to the top. I use Aleene's Tack It Over and Over for my bare rubber stamps, so maybe that would work for you. I know there are some stampers who don't like TIO&O, but it has worked well for me for many years.
I have a regular sized Misti and I wouldn't go smaller myself, because I sometimes like to stamp off the paper..and the regular Misti gives me that option. I've also found that it allows for larger sized cards, or even some decorative items. Although I scrap 12x12, I rarely (if ever) stamp directly on my paper, so the Memory sized Misti wouldn't be something I'd use often. As I have limited storage space, I don't have room to store something I won't use a lot. Just my take on it.
I have the regular-sized Misti and am so glad I do! More than once I have opened an A2 card in it and stamped both inside halves of the card at the same time; it's helpful to be able to see the "double-page spread." ... I also have a Tim Holtz positioner with about a 6" square workspace, plus a Stamparatus by SU, but I always, always reach for the Misti first!

I use MountIt glue from Club Scrap on the back of my bare rubber stamps. That way they are always "cling-y". Others swipe a bit of glue stick on the back, then wipe it off with a baby wipe after they're done (in lieu of double-face tape). On rare instances, I use poster tape to hold a stamp in place, but I leave the tape on the inside of the MISTI until it gets too messed up or loses its "stick". If I'm using a large stamp (like a background), I lay it face up in the MISTI to ink it and use poster tape to hold the cardstock to the lid of the MISTI so I can do repeated stampings if necessary. Clear as mud?
I have a regular misti and another brand of the larger size when the memory was not out yet.
I agree with Fionna. I might not have gotten the regular size if the bigger ones were available at the time. I dont scrap but I want the larger option to do the kinds of things she is talking about.
Red rubber:
I use the purple onion clear stamp for that purpose. They come in more than one size. I have cut one down to be closer to sizes I use a lot.
