Ok, I caved in and bought one of these with a coupon. I was hoping for instructions on how to line it up to punch rows of windows on a card or page, but it didn't have anything inside the package at all. It is a 2 piece punch and rather large, with strong magnets that attach the 2 parts together, which is nice. No marks on the outside that I can see that would help in lining it up.
Does anyone else have one or do you have any suggestions? I did a Google search and found a couple of videos but they just shows how to punch with it, nothing about doing rows :-(.
I bought the star punch, LOVE it! Martha Stewart punches are GREAT.

to line them up, make your first punch, then open the punch itself, and slide your cardstock over so that the first punchout lines up to the metal part of the bottom piece, hld the CS in place while you snap the top back on, and punch agian, repeat across your paper.
i just bought her new valentine heart window, OMG it makes the prettiest row of hearts.
i will try to post a pic..........

you do not have to turn the punch upside down, which i like! but be careful not to get your finger in the way when you snap the top back on...OWWIE!!!! lesson learned LOL.
you could do a row of windows, or do like i did above and trim it to have just a row of hearts.
i wanna try to make boxes with the windows, and cards using a row of just the hearts.
and this one leaves you an extra heart punch out too

Thanks for the photos, those hearts are beautiful! That makes sense for the one you are using but it didn't work so well for mine, I'm afraid. I bought the Rose Window and it's a scalloped circle with some cutouts around it. I did notice some faint lines on the bottom of the punch, though, so I will see if I can make those work for me somehow.
yes, they were already stocking valentines stuff on monday(my bdayLOL) so i grabbed it up cause i knew it will sell out fast............and casue i had a coupon LOL

I'm going tomorrow to see if my Michael's has them yet. Very cute!

I've been reading this thread and got all enthralled with the idea of these punches. I was at Mike's ready to buy one, but they are pretty pricey at $17.99. Even with a coupon, I had second thoughts.
But then it occurred to me that I can use the smallest Nesties in my sets to do the same thing - punch all over the page. I don't scrapbook, just make cards, which will fit in my CB. I have scalloped squares, fancy circles, etc.
Yes, I will need to run it through my CB several times, but I have more time than money these days. I put it back on the shelf.

I had the hardest time with the one I purchased - the flourished square. The top and bottom were hard to line up once the cardstock was in place. Also - is there a way to get a row of punched out shapes lined up perfectly?
And - this thing is hard to punch - you really have to put your weight into it!
Now that I have the Big Shot Pro with the larger platform, I can use my nestbilities anywhere on the page.
one corner of the top and bottom of the punch is different than the others, make sure you line these up, or the pieces will not magnet together correctly!
to line them up perfectly, i would draw a very faint pencil line to follow, then erase when done, otherwise they may be all wonky!
and yes, i agree they take a lot of pressure to punch! but i think it partly because they are so heavy! standing up to punch helps.
i am debating on the flourished square(its a lot like the SU one) and butterfly next time i have coupons.............

I had a nice surprise, the Martha Stewart products were not excluded on my 40% off coupon. So...I got the butterfly punch and it's great. I didn't have a hard time getting it to punch at all. Maybe some are more difficult than others. I'm going back to see what others Michael's has. I would suggest holding the bottom part of the punch with your cardstock on top of it up to the light just to make sure the bottom part is straight before you put the top part of the punch on.
I posed this question on another thread since I didn't see this one but I'll ask here too....I was wondering if the MS punch that looks like the SU curly label punch is the same size as the SU curly label stamps and punch?
