I just discovered last night that my walmart craft area now sells Martha stewart crafts! Many of them are the same exact thing that Michaels has sold in the past and present, but different packaging! ALSO, walmart still had some of their clearance paper crafts left, I got an EK Success corner adorners- wrought iron punch for $3.50! Hurry, i bet the clearance goes fast!

I bought a set of the small inkpads at my local Walmart. (kind of like stamping spots but in the shape of a raindrop) I got the earth elements set -- I think 6 colors for $8. I really like them. They dry very quickly! I will eventually buy all of the colors.

Wow, I'll have to check it out!
I love the Martha stuff and I haven't found it to be any more expensive than the other quality brands. And her packaging rocks! (I'm a sucker for presentation)
What is the price like? You can use a coupon at Mike's to bring the cost down, so would it be worth it to get the same stuff at Wal-Mart without a coupon?
My Walmart has been adding the MS items a few at a time. The dept. mgr. told me that there will eventually be a four foot section devoted to Martha's products.
The stuff at Walmart is different than the stuff at Mikes. All the scrapbook albums I looked at were covered by paper, not linen. The acrylic stamp sets (birds, botanicals, monogram, alpha, and a flowers and frames set) were similar in style to the ones at Mikes, but not the same sets. The glitters come in 3-packs (in coarse and fine combos) of 5 dram vials for ~$4.50 instead of massive jars. There's also a pack of over 20 colours of her glitters. They have 'normal' sized pigment ink pads as well as stacks of 6 spots that are the same idea as the Colorbox Queues. My fave was a glue pad for glittering; not sure how similar it is to the Essential Glue Pad by Tsukineko, or if it is meant for coated papers only. The packaging didn't mention any limitations.
There were a couple of kits, one for stamping and one for glittering that I remember. One of these came with a stamp set that matched the size and shape of some of her punches. There was also a whole bunch of glues in different sizes and formats than at Michaels. I'm sure there was a bunch of other stuff, but that's what I remember.
They also had some of the wedding stuff at my local walmart, mostly in the Eyelet line of wedding products. I was excited to see the square favour windowed boxes, the eyelet pattern heart tins with lids, and I think they also had the vellum favour bags.
Our Walmart is a small one, and has very little in the way of craft supplies. I haven't been there in a while so I will have to check. Maybe I'll get lucky and they will be carrying Martha's stuff there too.
I saw all the MS stuff at Walmart today too. I don't know if it is the same quality as the stuff at Michaels. They did have a nice set for starting to use glitter. It came with a large assortment of clear stamps, 1 or 2 jars of glitter, and I think the glue pad also, maybe even an ink pad (sorry can't remember exactly) It was $17.96 ? or close to that. Not such a bad deal for all that stuff.
I got a nice EK Success corner punch that was on clearance since they had to get rid of so much stuff to make room for al the Martha items.
It might still be more cost effective to use your M's 40% off coupon, I didn't think Walmarts prices were really any better.
I picked up two stamp sets the other day...leaves and birds...they were under $10, which was what they were selling autumn leaves brands for when they carried them. The autumn leaves sets are definitely more at other locations like target and joanns. I got the impression that the MS at walmart was cheaper than at michaels, but then I didn't look much at it at michaels since it was so pricey.
I did notice that the albums were 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 instead of those humongous 18 x 18 things at michaels. And that the quantities of some things were better...more usable if you know what I mean. Lots of punches. And everything is color coordinated in a nice soft shade of green. Very eye-catching!
And my walmart had the 4 foot section...plus about 2/3 of another 4 foot section...and it was FULL of all kinds of stuff.
Add to that, there are some new papers that were mighty tempting! (not in the martha stuff)

i don't know about your michaels, but ours does not let you use a coupon on martha items. only one time since they started carrying her stuff, they had a coupon for 50% off (one item) i couldn't get to the store until late in the week and the shelves were practically bare! but i just had to buy something!
I finally gave in and bought me some MS stuff at Walmart. I bought the Opaque marker set, bone folder and the 18x24 cutting mat. I love the opaque markers! I might have to get all the colors available, and I'm hoping they have ones in finer tips The MS glitter is very enticing. Has anybody used it? I'd like to know if they are nice to work with.
I couldn't find the cute butterfly punch, though. I wonder if W***mt will carry it eventually.??
It's so strange. Walmart is clearancing and getting rid of tons of craft items and just when you think it's the end....they go and put in MS stuff. go figure!
So funny to see this - I haven't been to WM in a long time until tonight and just wandered over to that area in case there was something new. A HUGE section of Martha' stuff! I was really tempted by the clear stamps (tried Autumn Leaves once and didn't care for them) so I'd love to hear what you all think of them - how well they stamp. I really liked the birds and the leaves. Pretty!
I had the lacy border punch in my hand and then started looking at everything else... and decided I had better hold off and avoid impulse buying. It's great to hear that the glitter is impressive! And I'm curious about the glitter pens and opaque markers. I have the Spica glitter pens and the Sakura glaze pens so I figured that would be redundant. Martha... who knew?? Well - yes - apparently everyone but me LOL!!
I figure since it's brand new that it should be around for awhile so I can hold off ... as with every other stamping-related purchase ... until I know what I'll want from the new SU catalog.
P.S. Get this - a couple of aisles over I stopped dead in my tracks. A wall of shelves with towels, washcloths and bathmats in WalMart's version of the In Colors LOL!! I kid you not. Well - no Baja Breeze or Pirouette Pink, but similar shades of the kiwi, tangerine, blue and red, with chocolate brown for good measure!! I just stood and looked and my DD thought it was most peculiar that mommy was staring at towels!! Just that they had sets with all of these colors combined ~ yes, fashion, home decor and crafts certainly do follow color trends, I know. I'm just saying... it threw me for a second LOL! I was beginning to think I just had In Colors on the brain :^/
Even though I read Wally world had Martha, I was totally shocked when I saw it tonight. I haven't browsed Walley's scrapbooking section in a while so this was a total suprise. LOL

I love 'em! But if you don't like Autumn Leaves stamps, you probably won't like Martha's either. When I use clear stamps, I always work on stamping with a light touch, and use only Brilliance/pigment or chalk inks.
Sorry to revive an old topic, but wondered if this has happened to anyone else. My town has a super Wal-Mart and a couple of months ago, they started carrying Martha Stewart craft items.
In the past few weeks, the Wal-Mart started remodeling. It looks as if they are almost finished. The craft section, including fabrics, Wilton items, and the new Martha Stewart stuff vanished! One of the cashiers told me that the stuff would not be back. Has anyone else experienced this at their local Wal-Mart? I don't understand why they went to the trouble of stocking the shelves with the Martha Stewart stuff if they knew that they wouldn't be selling it for more than a few weeks.
I think you can purchase the Martha Stewart craft items online, but I never order from Wal-Mart online.

we have a super walmart... it has the MS stuff. and the area was recently revamped.
i did hear that a lot of the stores would be doing away with the sewing dept. maybe they intend to do away with the crafts too.
i also heard that they were discontinuing the red duck tape runners so i bought up all they had (almost $60 worth), only to find more there the very next time i was there. go figure!
seems they would want all the business/profit that the 'craft industry' has to offer.

Was it the Noblesville Wal-Mart? I usually shop a different Wal-Mart, but I stopped at the Noblesville store last weekend. I was sooo sad to see what they did to the Fabric and Crafts department. I used to buy a lot of yarn for baby blankets there, but I didn't see much of what I bought there anymore. I know that the Super Wal-Mart that is close to me is supposed to be remodeled in Feb. and I fear my store will suffer the same grim fate! :(
The Wal-Mart I wrote about is in Richmond. From what I saw and what the cashier said, they must be doing away with the crafts section entirely, including sewing, floral, cake decorating, scrapping/stamping, etc. We have a large Hobby Lobby and a small JoAnn's very close to Wal-Mart. Maybe they didnt' think they could compete with those stores.
Our nearby Wal-Marts do not carry the Martha Stewart line, so when I stopped into a wal-mart at the next town over I was shock to find a whole isle dedicated to Martha. I bought the glue pad and an 18 pack of glitter. I haven't used it yet and saw in another thread that people aren't liking glue pads to use for glitter. So I was just wondering if anyone had tried Martha's glue pad yet, does it work well, any advice on using it?
I loved the glue pad the first day I used it, then, a few days later when I went to use it, it was dry. I refilled the pad again with the little glue botle and it was fine. Maybe you just have to re-glue with each use. (?)
I went to Wal-Mart again and found out that the fabric section has been removed--permanently, apparently. The crafts section, including the new Martha Stewart stuff, was moved to another part of the store. Whether it will stay there or will be moved again, I have no idea. The Martha Stewart items seemed to be in a jumble, however. I purchased the glue pad and a set of three coordinating metalic glitters. Haven't used them yet, but plan to within the next few days.
