I wanted to come back and report on using Gina K's paper today.
I scored it 4 times (using my MS scoreboard), and then flipped it around (not over) and scored 4 times again. This gave it a slightly wider score line than usual.
It helped. The cardstock did not split. It isn't smooth like I'm used to, but maybe another score each way will make it a little smoother. If it keeps working this well as I go through the package (and after being in our dryness that long), I'll probably consider it my new "go to" paper.

YAY!
PM me your address and I will ship you a box a folded cards. See if they look like the ones you are scoring. I am bound and determined to get this right for you! LOL! Which direction do you like your folds?

Are you crazy? I'm thrilled. This worked! I have cards that are not split on top! As long as continued exposure to our dryness (the swamp is off from summer so the tiny bit of moisture we usually get is gone. If they're going to split, it'll be in the next three months!).
I think one more score each way just might do it. I wanted to love this paper the first time I tried it. The thickness is my friend. So now that I know multiple scores is the key, I'm set. WOOHOO!
I am anxiously awaiting (okay, pacing like a caged animal might be more accurate) my very first card stock order from Gina K - unfortunately, it has to cross the border, and I am sure it is being held up at Customs ('cause Lord knows, that cardstock might be a border security threat - paper cuts to all in the handling department!!!). I am glad that I read this thread as I have always tended to hand fold my cards, so it is good to know right up front that I need to score it first.
I live in the "tropics" of Canada, so lack of humidity isn't a problem.

Chautona: Next time you're in Bakersfield, stop by Paper Plus (White Lane and New Stine). They sell an excellent white base cover ~ Mohawk Pegasus 100 lb. cover in Brilliant White. I buy a ream (250 sheets) of the 11 x 17 sheets and even though I make a lot of cards, this will last me well over a year as one sheet makes 4 A2 cards. It's a lovely weight and takes ink very well.

Sorry for the surgery on the Little One, but glad I could help. If you'd like me to send you a couple of card bases of this particular cover stock, PM me your address and I'll get some in the mail to you ASAP.
Blessings,
Kat
