I see that both SU and CTMH have gone linen - as much as I really enjoyed the imitation leather that CTMH has I am not sure if I am sold on their linen, it didn't seem sturdy enough (definitely not like the CM albums) -
What about the SU albums, is the linen sturdy and is there anyone that has seen/compared the SU/CTMH side by side to see which is sturdier?
I need to get some for gifts and since I only have a CTMH album and haven't taken it out of the box to use it much have no comparison for wear, and haven't seen in person the SU albums.
I love my CTMH album and the linen has really held up. I am a consultant for CTMH and my demo album has some extenders and about 50 bulky scrapbook pages. So it has seen a lot of fingers. The only thing about a linen album is to make sure that you get an album protector (CTMH $2.95) whatever brand you get as it will show finger prints. Anyhow! That is just my 2 cents
Hmmm, I don't see what good it is to have to buy a separate vinyl cover for the linen when you could just buy an album that has vinyl cover in the first place. Is it just the look of the linen even with the see through cover on it that you like? The idea that the linen would get dirty over time and not be cleanable has always kept me from buying those types.

I know --- I am super annoyed that CTMH did away with the imitation leather 6x6 albums -- I notice also that most of the 6x6 that I see are also linen from SU -- HMPH!!
I have both SU and CTMH 12x12 linen albums. For some reason SU's album is about 1/4 taller and 1/4 wider. Also SU has bigger page protectors that give you about an extra 1/4 inch on top of your protector. My CTMH is a tight snug and the pages aren't as nice. I like that CTMH has a bigger selection of colors but SU is nicer in the fact that the book is larger.
I like my CTMH linen albums. I scotch guard them instead of buying the plastic protectors. I have about 5 CTMH albums and they've all held up. One has about 40 pages in it, but the others I've kept smaller because I prefer that. I've never handled and SU album, so can't help you there.
The Martha Stewart albums at Michaels are also very, very nice. I have several of her 8.5 x 11 and plan to get more of her 12 x 12. You can go wrong with the 40% for her albums, among the nicest linen, post bound I've seen.
I bought an American Crafts Linen D ring album on sale recently, and it's very cheap looking and feeling. I would avoid those.
CM is nice but very spendy and I hate that they aren't true 12 x 12 - although I heard they were switching to this?
I will go check out the Martha Stewart albums. Thanks for the heads up! I really wish SU had more of a color selection. I already have all 4 colors they carry.
