Happy day after Christmas! My DH has gifted me with my choice of lamps for my craft table. I'm looking at the Daylight Slimline Table Lamp from Joann's for $119.99. Any thoughts from you out there on what to get or experience? Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated. Many thanks, Chirs
I have no experience with the lamp you mentioned. I do have two OTT-LITE lamps that I use, and I think they give true color light.
Good luck with your search!
I checked out the lamp you are looking at, and it looks like a great one! I have an OTT tabletop lamp, and while I love it, it doesn't lend itself to working below eye level like the Daylight does. Both are true spectrum lights, and I really like the looks of the Daylight. If I were looking to buy a new lamp, I would get the Daylight!

hi! I've also had great luck with the Ott lights. I have also noticed that Jo Ann Fabrics price is usually more then Michael's. They (Michael's) have a lot of lamps right now to pick from. I'm looking for a tall floor model and I can use my coupon if they're not on sale. They've been doing some 50% off coupons too.
thanks to all of you! I love this forum. it appears from the info received here and the research we've done on the internet, that the Ott & the Daylight are probably 6 of 1 and 1/2 dozen of the other. so i'll shop for price and style. many thanks for the feedback! hugs, Chris
I have the Ott floor lamp. I like it because I can move it around and it has a magnifier lens that attaches which is great when I'm working with tiny stuff.
The lamp makes a big difference in my workspace.
I have the Daylight magnifying table lamp, and added the floor stand when they went on sale (JoAnn.com) I have to say that compared to other lamps I've had (from office supply stores), this one beats it all for showing true colors. I also do counted cross stitch, and it is wonderful for seeing the differences in the color families.
For the craft table, where I am now - it is perfect. When I need to see tiny detail - the magnifying lens makes it easy to see. Set up higher on the stand - it lights the area perfectly, and the true color is perfect for matching papers and embellishments, etc. I can't say about the Ott lighting, but I know I am very happy with my Daylight brand!

I was going to get an OTT Lite for my table and read many threads on the subject of lighting here and online. Instead, I went to the store and bought a daylight bulb for less than $10. Saved myself tons of money!
Maybe you could just get the $$ from your hubby and buy the bulb. Then spend the rest on stamping supplies?!?! ;o)
