I bought the scotch dot roller at michael's and LOVE it!! I get refills each week with coupons. It is the easiest I have ever use.

There is no difference btw purple (?) and red. I emailed 3M and they responded quickly - see below. I am wondering if these refills will fit in the Kokuyo cartridge?

Thank you for contacting the 3M(TM) Scotch(R) Adhesive Dot Roller.

As far as the difference in colors, the red one is sold through office
supply stores, and the purple one is sold through crafting stores. There is
no difference with the adhesive in anyway, just the colors that the cases
come in.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks for the info on the red/blue cartridges. As far as I can tell, the adhesive is the same in the Scotch as it was in the Kokuyo, but the design of the cases and the refills are different and are not interchangeable.

Thanks for the info. Now I can relax and use my Kokuto knowing I have a backup to go to when my stash is gone. I've been using it sparingly to make it last as long as possible. So glad Jet Pens has better prices as I can't run to a craft store to use one coupon. I'm a country gal.............have to go to the city to shop.

Me, too! I go maybe twice a month (I'm retired) and do try to use my coupons at that time, but at one coupon at a time, it's hardly worth making an extra trip more often. The gas negates the coupon!

Okay, so I got the Scotch adhesive and did a comparison to the Kokuyo. You can see my comparison here.

So glad to learn your comparison is favorable. I'm another Kokuyo lover (use the ATG exclusively now b/c I couldn't find Kokuyo). I'm dancing a jig to know that I now have to good options! Thank you!

Wow, I'm jealous! My LSS doesn't seem to be able to get it, or doesn't want to bother. I'm using the Scotch and am OK with it. Really love the Kokuyo!

chulisnaquis,
I don't really know if you are to use use Kokuyo like the ATG as I've never actually used ATG, but I only used it along the edges in to corners, and only on "hard to adhere" materials. Normally I use Scotch double-sided permanent tape. Wish I could get the Koyuyo again. I'm happy for you.

Default Cherry Blossom Studio now has Kokuyo!!!

They are importing it directly from Japan - Cherry Blossom Studio Saw their banner ad this morning when I logged on to SCS! I have never used it. By the time I heard of it I could no longer find it! Do love the Scotch dot roller for tiny or difficult spaces or travel to crops, etc. but use the ATG for everything else. Trying to decide whether to place an order with Cherry Blossom to check out the Kokuyo. I do like the way the Scotch fits in my hand. The Kokuyo looks kind of large. If stick with Scotch will be ordering from Jet Pens! Thanks for posting about them. I can't figure out why Scotch doesn't offer refills in bulk at a lower price. At a minimum put 3 in a pack!! It would also reduce waste.
