Thumbs up Just confirming some ATG 714 info B4 I buy

I did an ATG search and read a whole bunch of info. I've decided what to get and where from, but I just want to confirm the info before I actually order.

I'm going to go with the ATG 714. Facts on this are:

It uses 1/4" adhesive.
It's the red one.
It uses the 924 refill (this is the standard, not gold stuff) which is 36 yds.
It's the one the majority of you gals are talking about.

Am I correct so far??? PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong--I want to order the right thing the *first* time around!

Also, it seems as though the overwhelming majority of SCSers buy theirs from framingsupplies.com. Customer service feedback seems to be excellent with them as well as the cost of the refills.

Is there a cheaper place to buy the gun? Does framingsupplies.com run specials or coupons I should wait for?

TIA for any and all info!

Just checked shipping on a 714 and 6 rolls of adhesive--came up to $8.50. Sound about right?

I think all your information is correct! I have had my gun for awhile (although it kind of got lost in the shuffle so hadn't used it much until Christmas cards!) and now I just purchased a dozen refills, the 924. I got all mine from framingsupplies.com as you mentioned. My tape came very fast, don't remember the costs involved, but as everyone said, great customer service.

I think that's about what I paid. The ATG comes in a box about the size that software might come in with manuals inside.

You'll love it!

www.framingsupplies.com is where I purchased mine. I just wish I had ordered more tape! It will arrive very fast, in like 2-3 days! The loading is tricky, the tape is always very close to the edge, and you will absolutely love it!!!

for loading be sure you download the video that they have on the site for loading the gone. Save it to your desktop and every time you need to change the tape just play it, but turn off the sound..LOL!

I ordered one right after Christmas. Love it! Wish I had ordered more tape - will have to order some more soon! I don't think they run specials. I thought about this purchase for a long time and watched here for everyones advice and I never saw anyone say anything about them running a special.

I have been on their list for over a year now and they have never run a special on either the gun or the tape. Sorry!

Hi Rockymountain stamper,
check out this place too......http://nhsmediastore.com/

You can compare prices too and see what's best for you.....
They ship north and south of the Rocky mountains. And if you lived right in the same town you could even pick it up at the store it self then you could go shopping at the LSS stores and a few stamp shops in the same town too with the extra money you saved from the shipping.

I just got mine yesterday and I love it so far. I wasn't sure however, which kind of tape refill to get so I just got one of each the gold and regular. I am currently using the regular tape. Is it true that I can't use the gold in my gun?

P.S. (I love the smell of the tape. It smells like tree sap)

as long as the tape is the right size you can use it.

Make sure you check the shipping and make it note when you find the company that works best for your re-orders, some charge $10 shipping for even 5 light weight rolls, unreal, there are better ones then that
