Joann's mini lunch boxes just $1

I needed a lunchbox to make a wedding day survival kit for a friends soon-to-be daughter in law. I stopped in at Joann's and couldn't find what I wanted but picked up a few things (All the Gallery J kits are on sale 40% off).

So I'm in the loooooooooooooong check out line and they have the $1 bins - where I found the most adorable mini lunchboxes (in pink/green or blue/red) - perfect for what I needed! I kept seeing the Target mailboxes in my head and how we all loved them - these would be so fun to alter! I picked up 5 of them but I think I will go get some more!

So sad we don't have a Joann's in Canada. Maybe one day....... probably not we only have Michaels of LSS and where I live we have nothing have to travel and hour and half to the closest store.

I saw these at JoAnn's too and am now regretting getting them.

A suggestion on the survival kit though. I'm always making them up for my friends/family for bridal shower gifts and I usually put them in a cute toiletries bag (one of the bigger travel ones with handles and pockets on the inside). These always go over really well because then they can bring them along on their honeymoon too. I keep my eyes pealed for them on sale. I bought a couple of them at Target last week on clearance for $7-8...they were super cute pink and white ones

ohhhh that made me laugh... I read your first post and I was thinking 'why what's wrong with them? are they defective.... all kinds of things running thru my head'.............

I wish they were white but for $1 I think I can work with it (maybe spray paint them? does anyone know if that would work).

I do like the idea of the tolietries bag - and have several of them stock piled!
