The Sew Mini will be on sale in Hancock Fabric stores next Thursday, Friday and Saturday for $39.99. I just got mine and I'm SO excited! (It was on sale this week for $49.99 and I "couldn't" wait).
I got one for Christmas!! (Not that I need one with owning 4 other sewing machines - LOL) I have read through the instructions but haven't taken it out of the box yet to play with - but will get to that soon!!!
Oh take it out! take it out! I too own 2 other machines, a Bernina and a Pfaff. This is so easy to use and move around. it's so light. I'm so happy that i finally set mine up...so easy to thread...it's not even funny. now that i'm using it, i've been a little stitch happy! lol You're going to love using this sewing machine!
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
I'm using the needle that came with it. i didn't see any extras in the package..getting my manual out...ok here goes...the machine is equipped with a size 14 needle. that is a medium weight needle...and so far it's perfect for sewing on paper. As far as the thread goes, i am a quilter, so i have mega spools of quilting thread and it seems to be working just fine. I've also used cotton blends...without a hitch! good luck! :-D
Ohhhhhhhh! I can't wait.
I also got one for Christmas and haven't cracked the seal on the box! Now that the kiddos are back in school....... although should probably put away decorations first! Although, I am up at 4:00 am on the internet! sorry, insomnia kicking in!
Santa brought me one and I had no thread so I had to wait a few days before I could use it. Boy is it nice and super easy! I hadn't sewn in about 15 years but it all came back to me and now I can't stop sewing on my cards! LOL
I went to get the mini but left with the next one up. It was on sale for $79. the mini was 49. For 30 dollars more this machine did much more. It makes button holes and you can sew on denim. It weights 11 lbs. not 5 lbs. like the mini. It was such a hard choice. I wish I had you all to help me!!! Do you think my machine is going to do okay?
Carla
Basket Girl...it will be GREAT! I dont sew AT ALL. My machine is only for cards and scrapping. The Janome dealer told me that they are great for this but that if you use them (the sew mini) for a lot of other things they will wear out sooner. So...if you plan to do anything with denim you made the right choice.
I just got mine and I love it too--even inspired me to shorten a pair of slacks for my DH which had been hanging in the closet forever.(though I did handstitch those).
