I don't think this is the same thing, but it looks like a knock off. Can any one confirm? I would like one myself. I also saw a SU! version on ebay ending in a day for $33 right now. If these are the same thing just a different brand then this would be a better deal.
Can anyone confirm if this is the same thing just not SU!?
This doesn't look like the same thing to me. I purchased the PLT about 6-8 months ago through HSN, so you might want to check there. I don't use it on every card, but I do use it often and like the results. Good luck!
I bought my Perfect Layers tools when they were first introduced many years ago. I still use them for nearly every papercrafting project I do. They are the best crafting investment I have ever made. There are a few places online to find them. Just do a google search of "perfect layers tool". Accept no substitutions - the original is the best.

Amen and ditto to every word in this post. Perfect Layers is one tool I will never part with. Keep searching!

I was fortunate to find a Perfect Layers set in the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum here on SCS. It took a while, but my patience paid off. Now I wonder how I ever cut decent layers without it! (Answer: I didn't.) As Susan said, "Accept no substitutions!"
They use to be for sale on QVC, but I have not seen them lately...I know I have 2 sets of the SU ones somewhere, I will try to find them and post them for sale...

I got my 1st set from QVC, but bought my 2nd set from HSN in the spring. Love the new metal edge, it keeps me from nicking the ruler and needing to buy a 3rd set. This is a tool that I use every time I scrap.
I bought mine last year from Scrapnesia, but they appear to be out of them . The sites says they don't know when they will be back in stock
You might watch their site to see if they get them again
can someone tell me the trick to using these, i have them and i have ruined several cards trying to add layers, i cut into the layer above where i was cutting. It is probably the "User" and not the tools.
I have heard of this tool but didn't know how it worked. In following the links, I see it is similar to what I use for cutting layers.
I use a 4"x14" quilting ruler with 1/4" markings. Quilting rulers come in different sizes & are inexpensive when purchased with a coupon at JoAnn's or Michael's.
I learned to use it with an X-acto knife but found I occasionally nicked the ruler edge so switched to a hand rotary cutter. I choose how wide a border I want & line that marking up with the edge of the upper layer & cut that same amount all the way around. For a 1/8" border, I use the ends of the ticks at 1/2" intervals along the ruler edge for alignment.
I stuck some Leaf-It Finger Dots (by Sailor) on the back to keep it from slipping. I originally got them from Evolving Images to use with their templates, but they recently went out of business. Leaf-Its may be available with quilting or office supplies (as they are actually to put on your finger tip instead of a rubber finger).
By using the hand rotary cutter, I can use decorative blades to cut layer edges.
