Default I want to buy a sewing machine

I've decided to take the plunge and get a sewing machine. Never used one, but I think I'll be able to thanks to all the great tutorials online now! Now I just don't know WHICH machine to get.

Singer Pixie - I've heard bad reviews about this one. Most say it's not sturdy...

Janome Sew Mini
- Saw a tutorial on Gina K's blog and it seems like I could probably follow it easily...Only I haven't been able to find it person. Does any know if this is carried IN stores?

Janome Hello Kitty
- again, I saw this on someone's blog and they loved it.

At this point I'm leaning towards the Janome Sew Mini because 1) good tutorial online 2) sturdy but same price as pixie. But I've only found it for $40 at hancock's site. Our 2 hancock stores in Vegas are not in the best areas of town, but I'm debating about calling to see if they even have in stock...

Which machine do I go with??

I am also wondering which craft mini sewing machine to buy. I want it just for card making.

Just for cards and scrapbooking, no interest in fabric

Well, since I know I'll be to lazy to go find the store in an area I don't know, I ordered it online. Shipping was $8.95, but now I don't have to waste gas driving all over.

Where did you order it from? How much? I have a big singer sewing machine that is broken. Maybe I would be better off to just get a craft sewing machine since that is all I would be using it for.

Great because I was wondering the same thing too-- but I was looking at the singer pixie because that was the only one I knew about!! Guess I will check into the janome!

I don't recommend the Singer Pixie. Had one & took it back to W. Very cheap IMHO. The clerk who handled my return just kind of rolled her eyes when she took it out of the box to make sure I was returning everything. Think I will try the Janome.
