My husband bought me a Cricut for my birthday (April 2). I have used it a grand total of 1 time. I keep thinking I should sell it when there are so many other things that I want. I'm scared that as soon as I sell it I will regret it. Anyone out there really love thiers to death?? Or should I unload it??
Opinions??

Did you get the new cricut or the old one? I'm holding out to get the new one, they're a bit too pricey for me right now though. One of my down line has the old one and we both use it quite a bit when scrap booking.
Pull it out and try to do a few things. Give it a chance before you unload it. It is one of those items once you start using it, it has endless possibilities. I love it for scrapebooking. Mine is under used, but I would'nt part with it. My problem is just getting it out!

Do you scrapbook? I use it all the time for my scrapbooks. My husband bought me one for my birthday this week, and I LOVE IT. I argued with him because I didn't want him to spend the money. I'm so glad I lost this one -- LOL. I won't be using it for my cards, but will on my scrapbooking.
I LOVE, LOVE my Cricut. I use it every day!! You should check out the Cricut thread we have here or on the Cricut website to get ideas and get motivated. I have the first Cricut but I'm getting ready to also purchase the Expression. I think my Cricut was the best purchase I have ever made. I have been scrapbooking for 11 years and stamping for 8 now.
Which cartridges do you have? Maybe someone can suggest something cool to try based on what you have. After you play w/it, maybe you'll decided you love it, or maybe you'll be even more sure you want to sell it.
There are some great replies here... my thoughts... are also, if you check out the Cricut ideas, play with it a little, then decide if you like it or not.
If you think you might like one of the die cutters, like Wishblade, etc., remember you are not buying more cartridges, but, you need to learn a new computer program.
There are other types, like the Big Shot, Big Kick, etc. that are manual, but you can emboss with them also.
Or, you can sell it, "it's just not your thing" and see if your scrapbook store has one that you can use, if there is something you just "have" to cut out. The store by us allows you to come in and use theirs and also they have a big Accucut and lots of dies, that you can cut with for a small charge if you bring your own cardstock, or free if you buy their cardstock.
Lots of choices, sell it and buy lots of SU goodies & punches....lol..lol
I'm not even sure what cartridge I have (BLUSH) I do scrapbook and it is the older style. I'm inspired!! Maybe I will give it a go later today if I ever get my kiddos ready to leave for camp tomorrow!

I wouldn't get rid of it just yet. I bought a Wishblade last spring. (Similar to the cricket.) I set it up right away and fooled around with it a little. Figured out a couple of basic things. Then it sat probably for 6 weeks with out using it. Then just the other day I was "in the mood" to experiment again. I figured out some more key things on it. I can do all the scallop shapes now!! It was a lot of trial and error some wasted cardstock but I won in the end! I know I will use it even more this fall when school starts again.
Sometimes we get caught up in the hype of all it can do and then get totally overwhelmed when we finally get it. Hang in there once you figure it out you will love it I'm sure.
I've had my Cricut since April and am just getting used to it. I pulled out my scrap pieces of papers and played with the George cartridge befor i would venture onto something more creative. I did invest in the spatula tool after ruining some letters. Just keep playing with it and don't get discouraged, pm if you need a boost!
Do you think it is more useful for scrapbooking, and not so much for cardmaking? I just don't use die cuts much in my cardmaking, and I don't s-book much.
I use the die cuts more for craft items...paperclips, gift items, books, boxes etc. I've made cards with the Walk in my Garden flowers especially. The flowers are also what i use on my paperclips right now. I do scrapbook and have enjoyed using the letters and phrases. I make crafts with ladies at a nursing home and we use the boxes cart. also diecuts for tray favors for our local hospital. I do wish that it would cut cardboard as a Cuttlebug will...oh well. That's another excuse to go to the library to use their Ellison set.
I've had mine for a year now and have never been that crazy about it. It sits right in front of me all the time and I rarely use it. I've thought about selling it, too, but every once and a while I use it and think I could possibly regret it if I ever do sell it. I keep hoping it will come in handy for some of my sons' school projects or something.

I had the small cricut that came with the George cartridge, but I seldom used it. I didn't like having to use the small paper, and George didn't inspire me. I sold it and bought the Expressions, and I LOVE it. It has 2 better cartridges with it, and it does a lot more. I've used it for making a swap on SCS, and just some fun things. I originally got the Expressions because I'm a teacher and hate cutting out bulletin board stuff, but I find I'm using it for more than just that. Honestly, though, I don't think I wouild have tried it at the current price if it weren't for my classroom.
I'm fairly new at SCS. Can someone tell me how to find the cricut thread? Thanks.
