Default I love my Score-it!

How did I ever live without it?

just got it yesterday, and all I can say is, this is a fab tool. I highly recommend it.

To those who already have it, how long does the wooden scorer tool last?

I've had my about a year, and used it plenty. I did lose the metal guide. I'm sure it will turn up sometime, but could have used it for my 130 cards last week. It is a great tool.

No more cracks around the score lines, even with glossy paper.

You can use it to make designs, too. Eileen

Wow, pretty pricey, though. Here's the link to the http://www.scorit.com/

I'd love to hear about some other favorite scoring tools.

I asked Santa for this tool and hope I get it. I am so tired of cracks in my cardstock and crooked scoring.

I've never heard of this...you just use it to score your cards? Is it easier to use than other things. My paper cutter has a scoring blade that I use sometimes.

This is SOOO much better than the scoring blades! If I pressed too hard with a scoring blade on a trimmer (any one I tried.. not just one) I would sometimes cu right through the paper. Especially the ends. Not with this baby! I heard a trick that helps immensely! Rub a TINY bit of Vaseline in the groove of the score tool. Not enough to make it greasy (I put a TINY bit on a Q-Tip and rubbed it in) and it works like a charm now... My only problem is I could never get the stopper (the little metal thing with the red turn) to open so I couldn't use that... It was on SOO tight! I finally ruined it trying to use a tool from the garage to open it.. didn't get it open and I think I broke it all together! YIKES! lol

I asked Santa for one too and so hope I get it. I saw it demo'ed at my LSS several weeks ago and have been dreaming about one ever since! Cracked cardstock drives me nuts and some colors seem to be worse than others for some reason.

Jan do you mean the wooden thing when you say the score tool. Does the vaseline help start the tool or what?

Here's a website with good ideas for "modifying" the Scor-It board.
http://www.quietfiredesign.com/Insight/scor-itboard.htm

I added the chain to the stop guide so that it is always attached to the board. I also put the velcro on the wooden piece and the end of the board.

I didn't mean to be an enabler :::::wink, wink:::::, but I just wanted to share.

I have learned so much from all you wonderful people here on SCS, and I thank all of you for sharing.

Wish I knew how to post pics ( that's a New Years resolution for me), I made a book with an accordion folded spine. It's so even and crisp with the Score-it!!! I also made a pattern in the cover paper, and sanded the debossed side. Looks great.

For those of you on the fence, or if you think it's too $$$$$, you will not regret it.

I don't work for them, or rep for them, just happy with the tool.

I used one of these at a class I took at my LSS, and after a slight learning curve I really enjoyed using it. Especially making the decorative score lines on the face of the card. But I too thought it was too much money, they wanted $59.99 for it, so I didn't get it. When I show my DH the cards I had made at the class he was impressed with the Scor-It card and said I should have got it for my Christmas present. Well.....long story short, when I went back to get it, they had sold out of them, so I order a Cuttlebug instead.
But it is still on my list. Maybe for my birthday, or any day when I'm really, really, really good. LOL

I love my scor it! I can not live without it. It is such a help, in fact I had DH do me a table for just my cutter and scor it tool..they deserve the space! I love making the faux tile look like I did in this card, using my scor it.
Grid Anniversary

If you have problems with the scor it, I would e-mail the manufacturer, he was so nice and e-mailed me back about a question I had with mine! Definately worth the money, although I think I should have gotten an even bigger one! This one only goes up to 6 inches on either side!

I got my Scor-It at Innovative Stamp Creations...Betsy has had them on sale before (which is when I got mine), so I'm sure they will be again!

My score-it didn't have the guide with it--e-mailed the company and they sent me another one within a couple of days. What a great place to do business with!

Default gale

gale,
I should have had the metal guide at the top but it wasn't with it when I got it. I e-mailed the company with the place where I bought it and the company sent me one. They are so considerate and helpful. It's good to see a company that cares about their customers.

So what all can you do with a Scor-It besides the obvious ... scoring your cards ... is it REALLY worth the money? I've been looking and looking at it, but I just cant bring myself to pay the money.
