My DH got me a Bind it all for Christmas. I got it out of the box, and its just sitting there. I don't know where to start! I have all these ideas to use it for but it looks so complicated! It's scary looking! I need some support in getting me started . Any of you Felt the same way? What was your first project? I seen the demo for it, and it looks easy. But I don't know where to begin! help!
Go to zutterzisters.com -- they have the best instructions there. I didn't know what to do with this machine until I read the instructions!
Just start practicing. I had these fantasies of gorgeous finished mini-books and I was too overwhelmed to start. Just punch away and give it a try! I use it for so many things, school projects, little memo books, etc.
Good luck!

whaaaaaa! I can't get it right! I can't get the margins aligned when I do any size of paper. I've read the directions step by step and still no use. help!!!!!!
I also got one. Go to zutterzisters.com. There is a 14 page manual from corporate which you can download as well as plenty of other instructions on how to deal with your new toy. And Google Bind It All and there are lots of info and projects which come up. That DreamKuts machine looks fantastic too.
http://www.bonniesbest.com/coilFAQ.htm This site has lots of that information. I found about 6-8 sites that all had great info on them just by Googling Bind It All.
I bought the BIA this past summer but didn't get around to using it until a few weeks ago. The corporate directions are very helpful so for starters go print those out - the site was mentioned in earlier post (zuttersisters?) It gives directions on how to get even margins. I generally use matboard for my covers and then papers for the inside. I glue my papers back to back just for the extra sturdiness, but that is up to each individual. I made several little books for Christmas gifts. I adhered old christmas card fronts to the mat board fronts, decorated inside cover with holiday paper & then just did all the inside pages with holiday/winter theme papers. My books were about 5x7, depended on the size of the card I was using. On the inside back cover I adhered a decorative envelope so the recipient could keep some special notes/remembrances of the holidays. Love making them & the recipients loved getting them. Now I only wish I had one for myself. SOMEDAY! But, practice practice practice before doing the punches on the project - it does take a little getting used to but once you learn it you will love it. I used 3/4" & 1" bindings on my projects. Have fun!
I will be honest...the DVD is more of a joke than anything (at least the one I got was!!). I was able to purchase a book at my LSS, which is probably the same one I could have downloaded for FREE!!! grrr... Anyway, just keep practicing and watching what you are doing. When you find something that works, write it down so you can duplicate your results! Have fun and remember, it's only paper and they will sell you more!
I agree--watch the scraptime video. Christine shows how to use the bind-it-all very clearly. I know it would help you. Now I want one so bad. Santa didn't bring me on. Darn.
I use mine a lot to bind mini albums. I have an envelope album in my gallery here. Or check my blog. I think there are a few in my gallery there. I made a "graduated" album with it that is very cool. I'll try to post that here for you to see, check my gallery later tonight or tomorrow. I call it the motherhood album. I am currently working on a 4x6 calendar mini for an online class. I'll have a sneak peak of that in my blog soon.
The Bind-it-All can cut thru chipboard, acrylic, metal, etc. I love using it.
That "acting" is Terrible  .... Hilarious, actually. *subscribing for Ideas for my BIA!
