This is really sick. I have sooo many barely used packets of designer paper sitting in my stamp room and yet... I keep buying more. I just recently bought Basic Grey's newest line and then I preordered Cosmo Cricket's newest papers. Now I see Basic Grey has another new line coming out that I simply MUST have! I really am very practical with my money EXCEPT when it comes to this hobby. Here's a peek at Basic Grey's newest stuff; it's all so very pretty!!!
I just moved and reorganized my scrap room.. i have more than 25 unused paper packs, mostly basic grey.. sad.. why sad? Becuase at one time i really loved the papers, now i don't so much because i'm into different looks and styles..
The lesson i've learned lately is to use it, don't hoard it!

I'm right there with you on loving paper - but I've got into the habit if doing my best to use at least some of it shortly after I get it!
I used to hoard it for some special occasion, then I realized every card is special and if I don't use it then it may go out of style.
I have a ton of "must have" paper bought ages ago that now look dated. Oh how I wish I had actually made something back then!
OMG!!! The BG Kioshi papers and embellishments are so cute!!!! Perfect for spring. I must get it. It is not so bad if you only get the 6 x 6 pads...what's another 6 dollars for paper, really, right?
Go and add it all up what that paper was worth when you bought it and maybe you'll think twice next time you want to buy something. Or .. for a while ... only buy paper when you need something for a project. Buying it in packs might be cheaper per sheet but it's not when you don't use it.
I remember one time on 2peas that people were measuring their paper stashes in FEET they had so much of it. :o
I hoard ribbon. Although, my paper stash is quite large as well. I've just started letting go of my paper and using it...I mean, that's why we buy it, right? That's what I tell my husband....

My name is Rachel and I am a paper addict...there I said it...
I must have 30,000 sheets of paper and card stock (just 12x12) and about 72 full packs of su card stock...I can't stop myself..I hoard..just incase I might need that..or its so pretty I can't use it then it will be gone and I can't make any more etc etc...someone please help (and not my husband) he would use it to start a camp fire. I did though go through it a few months ago, gave some to the kids (all that paper I HAD to have) and then I made gift bags out of the really pretty stuff to use for my customers at craft fairs..they went over really well too. First it was fabric ( i was a quilter) stickers, then ribbon and now paper..oh what will be next? the funny farm?

Ohhhh how I wish this worked! Nope, too much of an addict! I recently inventoried all my stamps and added up what they cost - there's a number that DH isn't ever gonna see unless we need it for insurance purposes. Doesn't stop me though... sigh....
I too am a paper addict. I do love having many choices when I am creating though. The problem is, I have so much I don't even know everything I have. I have no problem using it, I just buy it a lot faster than I use it!

Wait until you get your hands on this one ! I just got the MFT kit for February, it's the Who's that Girl, and she's stirring in a bowl, wearing an apron and a dress (I always imagine a Where's that Body set...just heads)''anyway, the girls over at MFT did amazing paper piercing with Nook and Pantry, so beautiful I wanted to cry ! So I oedered the 6 x6 set to try it myself, and the paper is jusr marvelous !!!
I'M an ADDICT too !

I actually am trying to design my cards to incorporate my paper collection because I am tired of having the paper around. Its a challenge that I like taking on!
You know how there have been the cards made/scrapbook pages/ items altered challenges and then money earnt. Why not start your own challege of rewarding yourself with a mark in your signature everytime you use your current stash rather than buy some new paper?
I set myself a challenge to use some Rob & Bob Christmas paper that I had to have a couple of years ago on my Christmas cards this year! Even though I think only got rid of about 5 sheets I feel good that I made a dent!
Maybe one day I will get those cards uploaded to the gallery/blog! LOL!
I also challenged myself to use some wintery papers I had collected for my BIL's birthday card. It didn't look exactly like my current style but it was a nice change and its freeing to be working through it!!!
My weakness is for certain paper companies, specifically, Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey - I can't get enough of it. A fellow SCSer once commented that the paper looked so good to her that she could almost eat it - my sentiments exactly!! LOL
Excellent idea, RiverIsis! In the past few weeks, I have been doing this. I challenge myself to use some of the paper. It actually works out pretty well, it eases the conscience a bit and allows you to rationalize buying more!!
Oh my goodness - don't even mention PAPER!!!!!!!! (I am extremely hooked!!) If I have any weakness in cardmaking, it is definitely paper (especially SU!, BoBunny.....) So, all that to say, I feel your pain!!

All of you hoarders, go get your crafting hats on and come up with something lovely to use some of that paper and then make 5 cards all the same and send them to 5 friends or relatives and brighten someone's day. If you can't think of 5 people whose day you want to brighten, go to this link:
My friend fowarded this thread as we both are paper addicts.....and rubber stamp addicts...and cricut, cuttlebug, sizzix etc addicts. It certainly is nice to know there are so many out there! We are not alone!
I'm in the same boat! I barely use it too. I've been really trying to use more.
I also went though and made like 50 envelopes out of my various double sided print papers. It still gives me a huge hunk to use for cardmaking and now I have a stack of REALLY cool envelopes. I hear they are really fun to receive.

I love all the BG lines...my sweet Sis is a wholesaler and I get the entire line of every single release right down to stamps and embellishments as soon as they start shipping to the wholesalers...she is so amazing...I have more paper that I will ever in my lifetime use...Love getting it though...lol. I use a lot of paper for the soldier cards though...
blessings.
OH...for those who eat the DSPs...there arent any calories...long ago I realized this is why toilet paper disappears so quickly..family members have to be eating it because there are no calories...blessings...

Hey I'm right there with you guys...Those darn manufacturers keep coming up with the cutest paper, then you see it on blogs, on postings and links about CHA , you get coupons for M's or J's you can't pass up...someone passes along a great online store and it just happens..you're up to your eyeballs in paper! Do I want to be cured?...Well maybe after I pick up the latest Cosmo Cricket or Jenni Bowlin...check back...
Ok, I was happily thinking I had what I needed as far as paper goes and look...I found this thread and saw the new BG papers and I'm now in desire mode. Shoot! I was doing so well too!
I love collecting paper. Yes collecting it. I even use it. Sometimes I'll pull something out for a specific project for someone and think...naw it's too pretty to use for them. Now THAT is pathetic. I'll convince myself to use it.
But then I don't eat my papers. I smell them, though. I love the smell of the papers. I do that to new magazines too. Ok I'm a freak. I know it. Now ya'll know it.:-D

So I went to the site linked in the first post and ordered... um... six new paper packs. It was a really good price. And the are all new... I need them.

I am right there with everybody else!!! I just got back from Bog Lots....with paper!!! They had a pack of American Crafts paper I think it was that I got. Can't even remember who it's made by....but I loved it so I HAD to have it...LOL!!!
Ok so I have a question that probably has nothing to do with this but is related to paper.
The new BG paper--does it come that way now or is it just showing the front and back? Also I went to the link in the first post and since they have the paper bundles at a great price, I was going to order Origins and Sugared Rush. It says they are pre-orders but I thought they were already released. And when I checked to see the estimated shipping for those, they weren't listed. So now I'm confused.

I buy from Stop and Scrap often. They are reasonably priced and their shipping is fast. What I love is, if you subscribe to their site, they will send you 'alerts' when new paper products come out -- more enabling!!
Hello everyone. Another confessed paper addict here. Which are your best choices of online stores carrying a huge line that are cheaper than most stores?
You are one sick woman!!
Hmmm, I'm the same way too.
I guess that makes me one sick woman too
It's a great sickness tho... as long as the pocketbook and family doesn't suffer
Rats! I was determined to read through this entire thread without clicking on the Basic Grey link in the first post...BUT, I just had couldn't resist, LOL. I have no self restraint when it comes to patterned paper. Hanging head in shame and sighing.
__________________ My hubby let's me have all the stamping supplies I can hide.
I had promised myself I wasn't going to buy anymore paper. I've been telling myself this for years now, and still my paper collection keeps growing. Recently I read a thread on TwoPeas asking if you were taller than your stack of paper. I felt very guilty knowing that my paper stacks would be equivalent to probably 5 of me. What did all this guilt lead to? 4 packs of SU designer series paper, 19 packs of incolor cardstock, and a trip to Tuesday Morning that resulted in me bringing home many packs of patterned paper.
It's a sickness, but at least I no longer hoard my pretty papers for that one special project. I use whatever works for my current project and I no longer have a problem cutting into a12x12 sheet of paper for even a 1 inch square that will complete the look of my card or scrapbook page.
I did work hard last week to stay away from Hobby Lobby and their paper sale because I always buy too much during that, but not a single sheet of paper this time. Of course I made up for that this week, and I will not click on the link above. I will not click on the link above.
