There's a nice tutorial on here but here are two ways I use them...

for deepest colors: I color directly on the paper but just on the sides of the open area. Then I take my aquabrush and pull the color around.

for light shades: You can just touch the watercolor crayon with your aquabrush and pick up the color from it like that.

Watercolor paper gives you the best results as does a black ink like Noir Palatte ink.

When I color directly on the page with my crayons, I use a blender pen, this gives it a really nice look without the wetness. I also like to take the color directly from the crayon with an aquapainter.

I either color on the image directly, then brush over it with a blender pen OR I color a few scribbled inside the crayon tin, then pick it up with the blender pen. I LOVE doing this!

You all make it sound so easy and fun! I've never seen anyone use these fancy crayons or pencil crayons to do the beautiful colouring techniques, so I'd written it off in my mind as "too hard to be fun for me". All the great posts above have forced me to re-evaluate that opinion now. Thanks!

The more you play with them the more you'll love them. I use the same methods everyone else has mentioned.
