Has anyone used the Fiskars Texturing Tool and Templates? I just bought them. What kind of paper/cardstock are we supposed to use with it? I tried it on several different kinds of paper/cs and you REALLY have to push hard to get the embossing to show up and even then it doesn't always work. What am I doing wrong??
I think if you do a search there are other threads pertaining to this topic. But from what I remember after reading the posts, is that EVERYONE has had trouble with those Fiskar texture plates. I really can't remember anyone saying they had good results with them. In fact I think some people have returned them, and the embossing tool and gotton their money back.

I bought them thinking it would be so cool to emboss my own cardstock or paper. It doesn't work well on either, even after rubbing them with wax paper. I ripped more paper trying to get a good image. And you just can't do cardstock. The design just isn't "deep" enough to get a good image. It isn't worth the time or effort. And that stupid tool doesn't work well either. Save your money and get some embossing folders and a die cut machine. You'll be happier in the long run.
I have those blue texture plates of Fiskars; did you get the embossing tool too? You really need that to get an impression. I wasn't impressed with the results either so what you can use those plates for is STAMPING! I usually like to put white inkpad over it and stamp onto dark cardstock. Makes for great backgrounds; especially the snowflakes one over red cardstock for backgrounds. Build the card up with mounted baubles hanging on ribbons or other things.
I used them with the embossing tool, but it takes long time, and then my arm hurts like crazy from embossing. Now I use them in the buttlebug with the embossing mat I use for the nestabillities (tan embossing mat is called I think), I liked the result much better than hand embossing.

I don't like mine at all. I couldn't even get rid of them at 2 craft/garage sales. So, I put them into the goodwill bin. Hopefully someone will love them!

I always found I got a better result using a regular embossing tool and taking the extra time to just follow all the lines. But last time I tried the special tool, for some reason it worked really well. Too flimsy a paper will tear, and anything like Bazzill is probably a bit too thick to use with their own tool, but heavy paper/light card is OK.
Some of them work better than others, too, it's as if they were embossed deeper or something.
