How do you use the Cuttlebug to emboss the nestabilities??
I just got my dies yesterday and I cannot really get the hang of it. When I just cut it leaves somewhat of an impression too.... How do you emboss with the nesties? Do you need the polymer mat? I read on another thread that was not working either!! HELP! Thanks!
I don't have the tan embossing mat (yet), but I tried some of the craft foam -- the stuff little kids play with. So I cut out a scalloped circle with the ABC stack. Then, as Amber Dawn said, I left the cut piece inside the die, added a couple of pieces of craft foam and ran it through again with an ABB stack.
The craft foam gets cut up! But I don't plan to do a lot of Nestabilities embossing, so a few batches from the dollar store will probably last for years.

I placed one into my cart at papertreyink only to realise it was out of stock. Now I'm not sure when I'll get mine. Hope you manage to gets yours soon. The embossing is lovely..
For those of you looking for those tan mats, Christine at All That Scraps has 18 in stock right now. PLUS free shipping on any order over $10. Great service and fast shipping.
Hi Jeri - Click on the link and scroll down to the bottom. It's called "Spellbinders Polymer Embossing Pad 4 x 6." It's on the bottom after all the Nestabilities are listed. HTH!
I am glad I am not the only one that can't figure out my Bug!! LOL This little buger is hard to get the hang of! I used I don't know how many sheets of chipboard, and the only chipboard I have is diecut already so I ruined some sheets!!! I will order the tan mat at cut at home when I order my next set of nestabilities in march, which is only in a few days so I can use another 40% coupon on the dies. Thanks everyone, and hope you all find the mats!!!

Great!!! Thanks so much Julie! I finally just got mine.. Yaye! Now I just hopoe it ships in time and reaches my friend in Seattle by 6th March so she can bring it to me in Singapore. Thanks!
You are going to get the best embossing by placing the tan embossing pad directly against the die. The embossing pad actually forces the paper in the die into the openings in the die. Any cardstock between the paper in the die and the tan embossing pad is going to hinder that process. If you have to use cardstock to get a decent emboss, place it on the top of the embossing pad.
I bought something called Rubber Gasket in the plumbing section of Home Depot. I got 2 6x6 squares for $3.99. They seem to be working well. I haven't used the tan mat, so can't really compare.

I just ordered a tan mat today from cut @ home but the nesties I ordered are on back order til end of March so I may end up trying out the gasket thing. LOL
I used some of those foamy sheets from the children's crafts section at M's. I used 3 layers of it and it did the trick while I waited for my tan mats
I played around a little with the amount of foamy layers and card stock, before I found the thickness that worked for me.
I just bought some plumbers foam gasket tonight - you can even cut it to size. I am going to try it, it was only like $2.99 or something. Worth the try, my mat won't be here for a while.
