Sorry if this has been asked before or is part of another Cuttelbug thread.
I just recently started purchasing these embossing folders. So much fun! I now have 6. So far I am keeping them in their original packaging. It's ok, but I'm thinking that if (or should I say when ) I get more of these, this could start to take up some space.
Bought the bug in April...
have 25 folders and a few dies
Use a wire mesh desk top organizer for cutting plates, sandwich directions and use two small plastic crates(about 3.5 x4.5) for folder storage. The small folders just fit and I can stack the other crate on top for the larger ones.....TIP: I keep a sheet of colored paper inside each folder so I can easily tell which one is which when thumbing through.

I have lots of the folders and they were getting out of hand just stacked in a box.
I got some page protector sheets at Office Depot that were made to hold 4 x 6 photos. The folders fit in them great, 2 to a page.
Then I keep the pages in a 3-ring binder.
I also have quite a few of the smaller embossing folders, that come 4 to a pack. I got the baseball trading card page protectors for them and keep them in the same notebook. There is room for 9 on each page.

I liked what Shelly (papermoon04) did with her embossing folders, so I did something similar with mine. You can see Shelly's solution on her blog, here:
I'm much more plain Jane; I keep mine in pencil boxes - .50 ea. @ Target. They are alphabetized with a label on the outside of the box. But then, I'm not a demo, so if mine are boring, they just bore me. ;)
I'm very lazy and just keep them in a small drawer that is built into my worktop (an old buffet). I keep all my dies and Nesties in there too. I used to keep them in their original package but had to take them out as I got too many of them to fit. No real order to them but it doesn't take me long to find the one I'm looking for.
I'm what my friends call frugal and my enemies penny-pinching. So I just use any old binder (25 at garage sales). Then I get all the storage pages at CropStop. Great prices and FREE shipping to USA and Canada.
Haylie-Jo is a real sweetheart and has helped me out with ordering when my computer was acting wonky. Also, she is VERY prompt. I received my new Cuttlebug folders only two days after they arrived in her warehouse.
I use the Cuttlebug binder and the pages for the A2 folders (each page holds eight A2 folders).
I just recently got my binder and put my folders in it on Friday, then used my label gun to make sure that each folder has it's own home and that I never forget the names. Yeah, I can be a bit compulsive some times.

I also have gotten the A2 storage from Crop Stop. I love them. I also use the slide storage sheets from Staples for the smaller dies. I put everything in a binder.
3 cheers for Haylie-Jo and CropStop! I use her storage sheets as well. I have one binder for my brass stencils, one for my diecuts and the last for my embossing folders. Cheap 3-ring binders are easy to find and Haylie-Jo has sleeves to fit any product (or so far all the ones I need <wink>). She also has wonderful demo videos for using different products in different roller machines. Oh! And if you're not sure of a size - email her. She is FAST at responding.
I store all my embossing folders (brass, sizzex, etc) in 2 6 x 6 photo albums. I bought them at Ross for $3 each. Decorated the covers and added some tabs for categories. Larger embossing plates are stored in a leather CD box I got at Tuesday Morning. I have to lay them sideways as they are too tall. In this box I also keep my other machine embossing tools like the tan mats.
I use plastic food storage containers- they come in all kinds of sizes and shapes- for most of my crafting supplies. I keep my CB embossing folders in one, all my nesties in another, my markers in a big one, etc. They are great for keeping organized and also make it really, REALLY easy to grab and go when I want to pack for a crop or weekend. My other favorite storage item is also from the kitchen- zip lock bags.
actually this is a combo storage solution because I can use it for my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and my Nestabilities. For the tabs I used a free GSD file (for digital cutters) by "Julie-Ann" at the UK Scrappers site....here is a link to her file (scroll down to #5 "Page Tabs"): http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/...highlight=tabs After I converted her file to a WPC (so that I could cut the tabs with my Pazzles Inspiration), I altered it by cutting off each end to make it fit my purpose. I also resized them to about 1.5" and I used my PaperMate Eraser Pen to write the information on each tab then covered it with gold embossing powder and used my heat gun. For those of you that don't own a digital cutter you could use file folder tabs, etc. The storage "plate" is a piece of chipboard that I cut 4.25"x5" and then I cut a piece of magnetic paper to 1.5"x5" to adhere down the middle of each piece of chipboard so my Nesties stick to it. The box I used is an old box I used to use in my home office for filing check copies. The box orginally had an "acordian' insert that I removed. The box measures 4.5"x10" and is 5" tall. There is also a lid that has a 1.5" lip so even tho my CB embossing folders are taller than the box the lid still covers everything to keep off the dust! If you wanted to make it "pretty", you could cover each piece of chipboard with designer papers.....I just went for "practical storage"! Right now I have 22 embossing folders and 8 sets of Nesties and I have a box of old alphabet stamps separating the two until I have enough to fill it up.....so I have plenty of room for adding more of each!
Mine's an ugly, but economical solution. LOL I just use one of those 5x7 index card boxes with dividers I made myself from card stock. I divide them up into catagories, like ""flora/nature", "circles/dots", "patterned", etc.
I like to stay organized, but prefer to save my funds and supplies for actual cards and scrapbook pages. ;) So it's simple but effective for me.
I brought A5 ring binders and matching clear pockets...fits the bug folders and my fiskars templates perfectly. I embossed a sheet of card and left in the bug folders to make it easier to see but works really well and stores about 20 per folder
Mine are out of the packaging, rubber banded together, and they sit on my bookshelf in my scrap room. Actually, they are almost always next to me on my table, since they are like my fave tool ever. I have 38 of the big ones. All of the borders. maybe 7 sets of the ones that come with matching dies. and a few of the mini ones. The odd sized ones are just in a my iris cart drawer in ziplock baggies.
I tried to post a thumbnail but it wouldn't work so sorry that I had to do it this way. I am accumulating quite a few dies for the Big Shot now that SU carries this product so I have been thinking about the most convenient way to store them. I may try something like YorkieMoma has done in post #21. I like having my tools out where I can grab them quickly so hopefully this will be the solution over storing them in drawers, out of sight out of mind, ya know!
I store mine in a photo box. I use the inserts that come with the box to seperate each folder, and added a tab with the name of the folder to make them easy to find (used my SU tab punch for this).
I store my cutting plates this way too.

I recently (like yesterday) got this: http://www.creativexpress.com/shop/p...at=1542&page=1
Love it! It is so much cuter in person. The straps are actually brown, not black like in the picture. I can't wait to try it out. All my craft stuff is packed right now since we are moving in a week, but you know as soon as I get it all unpacked my CB stuff is coming out of the over flowing totes and going into this baby! It was on sale when I got too! Great deal!

That's how mine are stored but the folders fall out too easy. I have one of those lunch box tins already decorated but empty...didn't know what to use it for...now I do!!!

Excellent idea, I store my die cuts in a similar way. Never thought about it for my folders. Thanks for sharing and showing. AB

Wow. That altered tin is SO cute, gale.
I just got a cuttlebug for Christmas (yes, I'm a bit slow...I think I'm the only paper crafter on the planet who didn't have one!) and a few of the embossing folders. I'm so going to steal some of these great storage ideas!!
