I'm working on organizing my svgs. What do you do when the download doesn't have a pic of what the finished cut/project should be? I've had some files for so long and there are multiple layers and it's hard to remember what should go where. Am I making sense? lol
I've had SCAL for a couple of years but honestly, I haven't done much with it. I got sidetracked on my home crochet business. I want to get back into paper crafting and trying to organize all of this stuff to make it easier.
I don't know what a svgs is or SCAL. Maybe I could use the same help, but I can't com up with what those stand for!
SVG is the acronym for "Scalable Vector Graphics" which are images that can be resized among other things and can be used with Electronic Die cutting machines or other print applications
SCAL is the acronym for a program called " Sure Cuts A Lot" which is a program used on electronic die cutting machines .
A lot of Blogs offer free SVG files so people collect them for future use.
Hope this helps

I have that same problem. The solution I have come up with is to create a folder with the svg name. Put the svg in it and if I can find a picture of the completed project then save the pic in the folder with the svg file. Thankfully, I have just recently been bitten by the electronic die cutter bug so I think I will be able to go back and find pictures for most of the free files I have downloaded. I guess I could do something unusual and actually make something with svgs and take my own pic :P I tend to collect more than I make
I have made folders and named them Christmas, flowers, Easter etc and so I can just open a folder and find the one I need, most bought SVGs have pictures so I keep them together, or rename them so I know what they are.
Thanks for the replies. I've been working on organizing them into subfolders. Wish I'd thought of saving the pic to the same folder before now but will do that from here on out. ;)
I try to keep a folder for each company/blog I get files from and then have subfolders for each type, such as christmas, easter, cats, dogs, birthday, etc.... That way if I post a project, then I know who to give credit to for the design.
I also save them by company and then sub folders from there. Items I get right from silhouette I save in their own folders, holidays, flowers, grasses etc.
