I did the same thing.....glitter all over a new Versamark pad. I tried scrapping it off with a scrap piece of paper and it didn't work. So now I same that one for glitter work and bought another one for everything else.
The glitter is hard to get off, I gently scrape my pad with a butter knife. But the ink isn't so hard. You can take a baby wipe and clean the red ink off of the versamark pad. Then just reink with versamark reinker. This works well with SU craft ink pads, too. Always someone accidently stamps in my white craft ink pad with a stamp inked in another color! LOL! This seems to work well for me.
No, trouble lifting the stained pad. It's just stuck on with a little glue. Flip it over. I didn't bother with glue to hold it in since it fits snugly in the pad. It's like have a a new pad.
Mine is very stained and I just basically gave up trying to clean it and went and bought a new one. I just use the old stained one for getting my dye inks to stick better on a clear stamp. I wish I had know about flipping it over- I would have tried that first.
Thanks for the information. I must remember it the next time mess up my versamark.

I gave up and bought a new one and use the stained up one for colored embossing powders ( they cover up the splotchy black ink ). I think I will try flipping the stained one over now..that's brilliant !
I need to get me some baby wipes because I see they are used for many things while scrapping and stamping.
Absolutely! You can't be without baby wipes in the craft room. Likewise, baby buds( cotton buds)- useful for picking up small items if you moisten the cotton part, amongst other things. And cocktail sticks, for adding tiny spots of glue. Cotton wool balls for applying/dusting off micas and chalks. Baby wash for making your own stamp cleaner- baby talc makes a great embossing buddy, as do used tumble drier sheets.
I think I have half my kitchen supplies in my craft room, lol.
I like the packing tape idea, very inventive of you!! I have a small bit of glitter on mine and use it anyway and never had a problem with it migrating onto my other projects. That I've noticed anyway....
Another vote for (at least) 2 pads. I have three. One 'clean', one with glitter, one with dye ink contamination (and who knows what else LOL) from direct to paper embossing.

I used a lint picker upper. The roller one. (I can't remember what they're called). I seem to get glitter on pads all the time and that's how I clean them.
