Hi, all! Does anyone have experience using and stamping on Hobby Lobby's heavyweight cardstock? I'm talking their in-house brand (The Paper Studio I think?).
I'm looking for a quality white cardstock I can buy locally but that isn't super expensive. Something that does well in helping produce a clear image (I use both rubber and photopolymer stamps).
Thanks in advance for your replies!
Cheers,
C

I buy it and use it a lot for card bases and for die cuts. When I have used it for stamping I haven't notices any problems. I have only tried the white and the ivory but have gone through several packages of the white. It also seems to be "whiter" than some others.......
I have most of the colors in heavy weight. I use them all of the time for card bases, punches, die cuts. I have stamped on the white and it worked fine. It doesn't work well for alcohol markers as it absorbs a lot of ink. I do need to purchase more white and maybe ivory as I can't seem to locate it.
Thanks, everyone, for your reviews! I will watch for it to go on 50% off again and buy a pack to give a whirl!

I haven't seen her posting in while, but Amber/sprtchick is a big fan of the Hobby Lobby paper, and she makes hundreds of cards every year.
By the way - are you okay, Amber?
Amber has moved on from papercrafting, for the most part. She started a new venture (LulaRoe) and has been very, very busy with it. I haven't spoken to her for a bit, but she was doing fine when I talked with her last...

Thanks for the update, Sue. I knew I hadn't seen her post for a while. With all her energy and enthusiasm, I know Amber will be successful with LulaRoe.

I just bought a pack of Michael's Recollections and HobbyLobby Paper Studio heavyweight white. I stamped a bold THANK YOU on both with Momento black ink and here are my observations.
HL - whiter, not as heavyweight as M, not as sharp or dark, a little bleeding of the ink. (Distinct letters on the stamp separated by maybe 1/32" ran together). 50/$8.99
M - not quite as white, noticeably heavier, very sharp, dark, crisp stamping. 100/$14.99
Also, tested GP 110 (not cover) from Sam's Club. - lightest of the 3, whiteness between M and HL, sharpness also in between, only very slight bleeding most people wouldn't notice. 250/$7.88
The Recollections will be what I will buy for card bases. The stamping was beautiful. I wish that it was a little whiter. I wanted to like the HL but it stamped so poorly that I will probably use it just for embossed layers. GP would be an acceptable alternative when budget is important.
I was honestly surprised at the difference. I got the Recollections on sale for $8 with coupons, guessing it may be 50% off from time to time and will definitely pick up extra if so.
I can't comment on other inks or blending properties.
Wow! This extremely helpful! Thank you so much for sharing the results of your experiment with us, DesertStamper!!!

I am still hoarding the original Michael's 110. Lol. I read here a white back that they have improved their 110 over what originally was produced in China.
I felt the China paper when they first started producing, as a package was ripped open at Michael's about a year ago. It was thinner and greyer than the original. Does any one here have the original paper made in Texas with what is currently on the shelves for a comparison. Thanks so much.
