Default Help! New Slice machine won't cut

So I bought a Slice for my "classroom". I used it this week to cut out some stars (well lots of stars) and some letters. Now all of the sudden it will not cut. I have tried everything (or so I think). I have turned it off, let it cool down, replaced the blade (twice actually thinking maybe I did it wrong the first time), homed the blade, tried a different cartridge, different shape, different size, etc. Any other ideas? Anybody else had this problem? Am I just going to have to call Making Memories?

TIA!
Jennifer

Hi

There is a yahoo group about the Slice here is the address:

[email protected]

You may find a lot of information about the machine.

Personally I think the machine should not have been put on the market. In my opinion it should not have pass the Quality Insurance. A lot of people have problem with their machine. Myself I decided to return it to the company even if I spent over 400$ for the machine and few memory cards.

If you contact the company they will arrange something for your so they may ask you to return the machine and they will send you an other one BUT if you can return it to the original store I would suggest you to not by an other one. Too many problems with the machine the cutting either does not cut you have to play with the blade. The other problem is that the cut are not straight. The company say it is the memory cards but the problem it the machine.

This is a good company but their sub contractor who designed and built the machine for them did not do a good job. But that is my opinion.

Try using the little light blue turn-key wrench thingy that came with the machine to tighten the part that holds the blade. My Slice suddenly stopped cutting (the blade wouldn't "pop" down to cut the paper), and that's the only thing that made any difference. Apparently if that part gets too loose it stops working properly. Hope that helps!
