Default help with new cricut deep cut blade

I just purchases the new cricut blade for cutting thicker materials and I am having problems. I also purchased the new housing that it takes. The problem I am having is that after I load the chip board on the sticky pad, it moves when the blade starts to cut. I even got a new sticky pad to put it on, still it moved. I have tried cutting it slower, deeper, etc, and still can't get it to work. has anyone else had this problem?

I would suggest taking a peek at the Cricut message boards. there is lots of how to posts there and the problem you are having might be addressed there. I hope you find a way to fix it. Pam

I looked there, but only found people with the same problem and no answers. Maybe some will come up with something

Well, then, I guess I'm not going to buy it. I can already cut thin chipboard on my original Cricut with the Multicut feature from DS on 5. It seems like you have to do the same thing with the new deep cut blade too, according to the Cricut site. I don't see the advantage of having it. I'm going to wait awhile to see if they improve it.

It seems like there are a lot of complaints about this new blade not being able to do much more than the original blade...not getting my money...
Blessings.

What store are any of you purchasing the deep cut nedle for the Cricut? Also, is this blade only for the Expression or can it work with the original Cricut?

I've looked in the store near me and no one carries the deep cut needle, but they do carry the Cricut.

Thanks! Patti

I too am not a happy camper! I could already cut a cereal box with the old blade. I got the thinker blade to cut heavier chipboard. This blade does the same thing my old blades do. I am calling provocraft Monday and letting them know I am not happy with this product.

I saw it at Hobby Lobby for $30, but I am not going to buy it until it starts getting some better reviews from everyone.

I did purchase the deep cut blade and housing from JK Crafts. Got it in 2 days! Works great for me. Allows me to cut heavier things and nicer cuts than the shorter one. Regular blade kinda chewed thicker materials. I just adjusted the pressure and speed for the better cutting with the longer blade.

Works great for me!

Patti

P.S. I would rather purchase local, but none of the stores in my area carry it nor will they for a while.

I hate my deep cut blade. I put a thick cereal box in the cricut. My deep cut blade freaked out and made horrible noise. It was cutting all over the chipboard and not in the pattern I requested. Yes, it was in there correctly. I had cut other things without problems. I changed the blade and put my original blade back in the Cricut. It worked on the chipboard with multi cut.
