Question Help! Bowed clear plate with vagabon & nestibilities

Question Please: I used my Vagabon with spellbinders yesterday for the first time. I sandwiched as below

MPP
clear cutting plate ( see below-this one bowed & had horrible cut impressions)
card stock
square die- blade down
clear cutting plate
Waffer thin die adapted

Cut beautifully, however I only cut 15 squares & my clear cutting plate is really, "bowed"!!!! I have used it for making 225 sizzix triangle boxes for a wedding and it didn't even leave a mark on it or misshaped it at all. It also really cut "impressions" the clear plate which I was told that might happen but on my... it looks aweful! Is there something I did wrong that it is so ."Bowed"???? I'm afraid to use it for fear it will break??? Please help. Thanks

They get bowed and cut up - that's normal

However always run it through the machine with the bowed side up (so it looks like a mountain not a valley) - this will flatten it out a bit and keep it from getting extreme.

This one is the original one I got when I got my Big Shot and it's still ticking! I've had it for years and millions of passes through the machine.

(Splotchy wanted to know what I was doing )

Default Vagabond plates

Don't feel bad you are not alone! This just happened to me last week. I did each one of my embossing folders (so I could put them on a ring and look them quickly) and I also did 1 of my nesties from each set. Everything came out great up to this point. The last thing that I was doing was a Spellbinder Impressionability. I used the same sandwich stack as I did the embossing folder and it came out horrible, did it again with the same result. I did it another time and ran it back through again, with no better results. So I decided to add the tan mat to the stack. I ran it through 1 time and could not believe my eyes when I saw my cutting plate! It was warped like nobody's business. The impression was perfect though! I did notice as it was going through the machine the tan mat was really shifting around.

I also just read over this week-end that these clear(cutting) plates are the same as the Cuttlebug ones and will fit into the Vagabond. Anyone know if this is true? If so, I think I will take a coupon and go to Joann's and buy one to have on hand!

Bowing is a pain in the neck but if you flip your plate everytime you use it it will stay flat a bit longer. Once there is a bump..it's not likely to get flat again. I try to move my dies around the edges not just staying in the middle. This helps a little.
