Question Heavy White Cardstock

I did some "research" several months back regarding what the "best" heavy white cardstock was. I decided to place an order with Papertrey, and for whatever reason, I did not get around to it. I need to get some soon to make Christmas cards. I'm wondering if that is still the way to go.

I need nice and HEAVY for the card base. I have not been thrilled with the SU white for the base. I don't know if it's just me or what, but it seems like it has gotten whimpier as time goes on.

Can I get your suggestions as to what you have found to be a nice, heavy white cardstock?

Thanks a bunch! Need to order something soon.

Sandy

I haven't tried (or even seen PTI's cardstock) but I have to say that the heavyweight white cs (item # V290) from The Angel Company (TAC) is very sturdy with a nice weight, finish and brightness. They have another white cs which is nice but not as heavy so I included the item number for reference.

I will add that I cannot recall ever reading anything negative about PTI's cs and some of the colors are really pretty. I just haven't had a chance to see any yet.

Hope you find something that works for you and your projects, budget, etc.

Paper Trey white cardstock is the best quality thick cardstock I have used or seen...hands down! No contest! You won't regret placing an order.

Again, PTI, hands down. I seriously have NEVER come across anything that good. To me, it has changed the whole look of my cards.

I was an all-Papertrey girl until I tried 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. It's just as thick, if not thicker, and smoother. I love it!!

Another vote for PTI cardstock. Been loving it since I started using it months ago.

Default Heavy White Cardstock

In answer to your question about Neenah paper, it can be ordered from Xpedex or Kelly paper, which have many locations around the country. Check to see if there is a paper supplier or printer in your area who might carry it.

I buy nothing but Papertrey white cs now for my cards & have bought all the colors that she has come out with & can't wait to buy more! I am hooked on the quality. I still buy SU cardstock as well & use the WW for other things, just not for my base.

I too love the PaperTrey cardstock, however I received my order with the corner dinged. Not their fault, but dinged none the less. I took a sample of it to my local Kelly Paper and the Neenah Classic Crest Cover (110 LB 297 G/M2) is comparable. A little more expensive but definitly no dinged corners.

I have not tried the Papertrey paper, but I will concur with the Neenah CS. I also use the 80 lb, when I need to run it thru my computer (the 110 lb - is too heavy for my printer), and it is heavier than the SU white.

I've never had dinged corners on any of my PTI, but it happens ALL THE TIME with my SU orders.

I'll put in my vote for the Neenah, also. I use the Solar White in both 8o# and 110#. You can order directly from them (www.neenahpaper.com) and if you don't have an Xpedx close by (mine is about 30 mi.) the shipping is cheaper than the gas to drive!

Thumbs up

Another vote for the TAC white cardstock. If you're looking for smooth, heavy cs, that's a great one.

In all honesty I did not contact them. I read a thread here on the issue where a couple of SCSers had contacted them and did not get their paper replaced - so I figured it was no use trying. I probably should have tried myself -
