Default Has anyone tried Accent Opaque cardstock for Copics?

I was in a zoom stamping session this week and someone said they preferred this paper to the Neenah cardstock and it is A LOT cheaper.

One person used 80 lb and one used 110 lb so I am wondering what your thoughts are before I place an order...

Thanks! Sherri

Jennifer McGuire talked about this CS...she says she uses 110 for card bases and die cuts. For coloring she still uses Neenah if that helps.

I have been thinking about it bc card bases take up a lot of CS so a cheaper option would be very nice.

Yes, I bought the 110 lb. weight, and I like it for card bases. I haven't tried my Copics with it yet.

I can’t remember what she shared in her videos so thought I would reply anyway

I purchased the 110 lb for card bases. Is that what you want to use It for or do you want soemthing multi purpose? Just wondering if you plan to color directly on it and if you need a comparison where that is concerned. I have tried coloring on it with Copics but find it takes more ink to get the colors to blend well. (Which makes sense because of the weight of the paper.) I only use colored pencils for detailing after I have colored with markers, so I’m not sure how this paper works with just pencils. Hopefully someone can supply that info if you need it.

Default Yes for card bases, no for coloring

I use it for card bases, but I have not found it good for coloring, especially with Copics. Prefer Neenah or Bristol smooth for coloring.

Default Copics On AO

I love AO for card bases, but found that my Copics feathered a bit. I stick to Neenah for Copic coloring.

I use Accent Opaque for almost all my paper needs (for almost 2 years). I find it brighter/whiter than Neenah and I have no issues with Copics or colored pencils.I have the 80, 100, and 120lb. and they all work great. I still use Bristol Smooth for ink blending backgrounds.

I've been using Accent Opaque for about 2 years now also. I find it just as good as the much more expensive Neenah. I love for my cards to look beautiful, but I am not entering them in a competition or to be put on someone's wall, but to let the recipient know I am thinking about them, etc. For that reason, I have decided that some of the videos that we see that are so incredibly intricate and perfect, just aren't for me. As it is, everyone I send cards to seem to hoard them - even the ones I send in the little plastic envelopes for them to resend! This is supposed to be fun and to share our love with others - not to see who can make the most expensive card. Just my opinion!

May I ask what brand of Bristol smooth that you use and where you purchase it?
Thanks

I used it and can't tell the difference....except in my wallet! Try it for yourself & let us know what you think! I buy my paper at a big paper store (Kelly Paper) and they turned me on to Accent a couple of years ago...daring me to find the difference!

It does come in white, I have bought it in both 110# and 80# and the color however is not the same as Neenah so, I use it for diecutting. if I make a card with a colored image on Neenah I put it on a Neenah base. the tone mix is fine when you want layers of color but, for a streamlined CAS look it looks better to me to not mix the colors. kwim?

I hate when I put a piece of watercolor cardstock on top of white cardstock and then notice the colors don't match.... I want the whites to match each other.

I had the opaque #110 in my wishlist on AZ for awhile and I just fired the order since people like it....I look forward to seeing how it is.

As for how bright white it is....personally with my eyes I would have to be looking at it in daylight to see fine differences. I will try it but as said, if I am making a front that I am gluing down on a base...I see no reason it should be an issue. As said, our recipients don't have any idea-or interest unless maybe they are a creative too....
