I'm gonna pass too. If I ever get to the point where I need to sand/paint/stencil a picture frame in less than 60 seconds......... I would need to be institutionalized.

I tend to agree with you ladies, but I have a medical condition that makes my hands weak/shaky and I just don't have the power I need to ink an entire background. Because I love that technique this would be a really great tool for me. And I would imagine for someone who has arthritis as well.
I used my 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and got The Groove for $11.99 —and it's great! It's like a tiny lightweight version of a handheld sander that you'd get at a home improvement store. It's very well-made and very easy to use. There is a learning curve for getting the right pressure on the foam pad and not getting swirls, because it's pretty powerful (the rough sanding head actually gouged my craft mat a bit, whoops).
Thank you to whoever had the idea of velcro-ing the Ranger blending tool circular foam pads to this foam pad head so you can change them out — they're almost an exact match!
It distresses edges like I've never been able to do, and I used it to apply paint for a background in my art journal and it was so quick, and the paint dried almost immediately because it was so smooth. I'm very happy with this and I highly recommend it.
All great to hear! I recently made a mini-sander with a battery-operated toothbrush, and also purchased Micro Mesh sanding pads for my polymer clay, and have a buffer.... so it's a little difficult to justify the Groove Tool just yet, although that was a great price on it, and it sounds like it would be wonderful for paint, stencils and distressing which my sanding tools don't do, of course.
I'll be curious to hear how quickly the pads wear out. Enjoy your new tool!

What was te tool by? I have to go to Hobby Lobby Tuesday and I will pick one up rather than waiting on the ones I ordered from my distributor.

Don't bother asking the sales associates, because they've never heard of it  I eventually found it by the stencils in the scrapbooking department. There was just one at my store...

Dittos at the HL I went to. I had 3 people looking for it. A manager finally located it in the place you described, and there was only one on the peg,
Yes, I bought it and a, wondering why I bothered. I had swirls in the inked card stock and paper flying off my workspace. So far not impressed. Have yet to try distressing edges with it. If it works for that, it won't be a complete bust!

I really like the way it inks edges and distresses/sands edges hopefully you will too. I have discovered that the Ranger ink blending tool also has a learning curve and you have to master the right pressure, so I think this tool just ramps that up even more.
I am going to post on Art C Facebook page and ask them about techniques for ink blending and if they answer, I'll report back.
Thank you for contacting Momenta. We find that the foam tip works best when stenciling or using with ink to add a distressed effect. The brush tip works best when you are painting a surface area as will not leave brush marks. If you would like any further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 800-448-6656. Thanks!
I really hope to use the foam applicator to ink up a whole background so I'll continue to experiment, and I'll even try the brush in Distress Ink and see how that works!

Thanks for sharing this info. I guess that would explain why I had such a difficult time sponging an entire background....I was not aware the foam tip was only intended for applying ink to look distressed. It definitely looked distressed, no wait, it definitely distressed ME on how the ink went on!!!!
Like you, I intend to figure out how to make it be more effective in applying a total background. I've already spent the money on it, so by golly, i want to find a way to like using this tool!
I got mine today. I also picked up several packages of replacement pads. Will try it tomorrow or Thursday.
how do you ink it up? Oh well....I will figure it out.
Ok..had time to pay today. I love this tool. If you tape down your stencil it works great. I was able to quickly stencil these leaves for 4 cards. It was very easy to clean the spongy tip.

Excellent discovery: the foam pad inks a background beautifully over gesso! I inked a deep edge on my art journal (9 x 12) page and it was so quick, and the result is super smooth and uniform, with no swirl marks (or you can just go over it and take any swirls out). I used the brush with Distress Ink with a stencil and the result was fantastic as well. I am in love with this tool.
I saw this at Hobby Lobby the other day and wondered what it was. Thanks for the tutorial!! I do love my stencils so depending on the price with a coupon, I may get it .

It was only 11.99!
Tomorrow I am going to do a snowflake collage background with my sweet new tool!
You crafty, creative ladies crack me up!
I bet you all could find creative uses for a garlic press and a whisk!
I don't see adding this tool to my arsenal, at least not yet. I have enough trouble not making a mess with my fingers and a sponge. God help me if I added battery power the mix!
