Default Glitter Questions

I wanted a little glitter to add some sparkle to some cards. I'd seen the picture of the SU Dazzling Diamonds in the catty, but have never seen it in person. Wanting "instant gratification", I ran to Patcatans and bought a little tube of glitter, ran home, made my card, added the liquid adhesive, sprinkled on the glitter...and YUCK!!! I didn't get "a little sparkle", I got a completely obscured image. It looked horrible. I'm thinking that the glitter was too "chunky". Is the SU Dazzling Diamonds a fine glitter? Is there a kind I can buy in a store that will give me just a little sparkle and not be weird and obnoxious like the stuff I ended up with? I have one bottle of "clear" Stickles, and I tried that on one of the images, but that wasn't actually the look I wanted, either. I think I need some glitter help.

Thanks!

The SU dazzling Diamonds is a very fine glitter and I think you will love the results you get with it. I absolutely love glitter and I don't think I've ever made a card without adding a touch somewhere on the card. My all time favorite glitter is Art Institute Glitter below is a link to their website. You can get it in most craft stores.

When you are buying glitter to use on cards you want to look for the word fine somewhere on the container. Personally if I dont see that I dont buy it. I have all the SU glitter and most colors of the AI glitter along with a few other brands that I cant remember who they are right now. I just love the sparkle.

Hope this helps~

THe SU Dazzling Diamonds is what they call ultra fine glitter. It in no way resembles the glitter from "elementary school" days.

Another good option for ultra fine glitter is Martha Stewart's line at Michael's. She has a number of glitters that are ultra fine and the price is super!

Have you thought about trying some of the glitter pens? Like the Gelly Roll sparkles one or the Spica glitter pens? They are nice and provide a glitter/shimmer without being too obvious.
