Default The glitter keeps falling off

Hi Ladies,

I have tried to use glitter using to different glue pads, one made by Paletter and the Tunkseido and neither seems to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Angie

I like to use heat & stick powder. You just need to be sure not to over-heat it...just heat until shiny. Then you re-heat briefly after you stick the glitter on.

Also, think about Two-Way glue (or any liquid glue), Crystal Effects, sticky tape.

I switched to stickles for almost everything! The only loose glitter I still use is Dazzling Diamonds, and even that doesn't come out if I can help it!

I've been using Elmer's glue with a paint brush. I forget who's blog I saw the idea on, but it works great!

All those other methods are fine too...but with the heat N stick you can get the glitter in the exact image of the stamp! Like this:

You can't really see how glittery it is, but all those little tiny flowers in the butterfly are all made of glitter!

I think that I need to get some heat n stick. I also have a glue pad and have not been happy with the results.

I like to use Glamour Dust by Decoart. The adhesive I use is Sakura Quickie Glue pen. I can get the adhesive fine enough for the glitter to leave a very sugar-like coating on my image.

Leave it to dry thoroughly for a couple of days and the glitter won't come off at all. :-D

Default Heat N Stick for Me

I made a card using VersaMark and glitter; obviously the glitter flaked off the next day, so I purchased one of those stamp and stick glue pads from Palette. You have to apply the glue by stamping the pad over your paper or image, heat activate it for a minute. Apply glitter and briefly heat set for one minute. Works great, but I think I'll end up buying a jar of SU's HnS powder, as the pad doesn't have much glue and there are no refill bottles where I bought the pad from.

Default Glitter

Hi,

I stamped and glittered the images last night and today when I run my finger accross it the glitter comes right off. I used the heat gun for the Palette pad and the glue seemed to disappear, I then used it again after the glitter was already on. Is that right, or did I over heat it and that's why it disappeared?

I have both of the glue pads above, I do not like either of them! Sakura Glue Pen or the heat & Stick powder seem to be the best.

I will have to try the Elmers Glue thing?

Martha Stewart Glitter Glue is nice too!

I use the two way glue pen from Stampin Up. My glitter always stays put.

I use these also when I use glitter. I love the glue pens as I can trace and put it where I want.
But I do LOVE stickles! No mess with it at all.
I use the glue pads and I HATE them!

I just got some Heat & Stick Powder and used it for the first time today. It worked great. It's my new favorite thing.

Personally, I recently tried mixing clear embossing powder with my dazzling diamonds glitter and it works great! I read it as a suggestion in another thread. I'm so glad too b/c I HATED the way the glitter got all over everything and didn't stick to my cards.

What ratio did you use? 1:1?

What, you don't want glitter on EVERYTHING?!?!!? LOL!! I like to use stickles ( and be sure to let them dry thoroughly!) and then dazzling diamonds with a glue pen. Since I LOVE sparkles ( part magpie, I know), it doesn't matter that glitter is everywhere!!

More or less. I had to tweak it a little. I just kept mixing and adding essentially until I got the right combination. But, I would say, half and half.
