Default Gamso?

Can somebody tell me what you do with gamsol? I've seen it mentioned in the postings as being a part of the card, but I don't see what it does. When I looked it up I found it is a solvent. What are you dissolving? Just curious...

It's commonly used for blending colored pencils (like Prismacolor pencils).

Be aware it does have chemical properties and a strong odor. Because of this, some people use baby oil for blending with their colored pencils instead of gamsol.

Here's a tutorial on the technique with pencils: Splitcoaststampers - Gamsol Magic Technique Tutorial by Cecilia Ross

I use Zest It, which is a natural version and smells like oranges

And be sure you are using colored pencils and not watercolor pencils.

And I found that I didn't think the scent was that strong but be careful as it can begin to bother you later. Working with it with open windows is a good idea. I have used both baby oil and baby oil gel and they both work. Lydia mentioned Zest It which I have never used but sounds like a good "orange" option.

I use Odorless Mineral Spirits or paint thinner and you can even get it at Wal- Mart in the paint department!
