I suppose I am a seriously "late bloomer", due to the fact that I have never used Fun Flock! I just got some and have questions:
I am trying to make a punched out white c/s circle look like a pom-pom. So, I figured Fun Flock would be the way to do it. What kind of adhesive should I use? Glue? Glue stick? Double sided tape???
Also, after I use it do I tap off the excess and return that to the container as I do with embossing powder? This does not require heating, does it?
One last question: How long does it take to set/dry?
Thanks so much to any one who can answer my questions!!
Hi there! Fun Flock is lots of fun! I am sure you'll LOVE it!
1- You can use any of those adhesives. I tend to use a liquid glue (Mono Multi) just because it's my adhesive of choice and you can spread it to the whole area.
2- Yes, tap of the extra, and you can return it to the jar! You'll find that a jar of FF lasts a LONG time!!
3- Nope, no heat-setting!
4- It takes as long as the adhesive takes to dry. So not very long. No time at all if you decide to use tape!
Have fun! Be sure to show us what you are working on! ;)
I don't have enough clear buttons, so I thought to do the circles with the Fun Flock.
I am making a few other alterations to the card, but this is basically the look I am after. I thought it would be a cute and quick, easy card for the S-A-S.
Thanks again so much for your help!!!
And thank you, beadn&stampn for your wonderful card and inspiration!!
I love using my Glue Pad for punched out images, just push it into the glue pad, add your flock and you're done! For details stuff I use the Quickie glue pen. Hope this helps! Flock is really fun so enjoy!!!

Awesome! I just got a glue pad AND the quickie gel pen- both gifts from a sweet SCS friend!! How cool is that?!
Guess I'll be flockin' today
Thank you!
I love fun flock, I too just started using it recently. It gives just enough fuzziness. I love using it on stamped animal images.
I actually use my xyron machine and run whatever side i want the flock on face down thru the machine to get the sticky side on there. Then just sprinkle flock, press it down with finger to ensure coverage, tap off excess on a piece of paper that I've all ready folded so I can easily return extra to the container. It def goes a long way...And be sure to still put a scrap piece of paper under whatever you are working on in case of accidents!

Great idea to use your Xyron! I was finding it hard to believe that this little jar would last long at all, but you all are right. I just did the "buttons" and it used very little.
It was so easy, too! I used 2-way glue, but next I think I will they the glue pad idea.
Anyway, they were so easy to do and look great.
Thanks again for all the help and tips!!
I guess I am even a later bloomer than you because I have never heard of fun flock. What is it and where do you buy it?
and...................do I have to have it.........lol

How funny! I thought I was the last to know, lol!
Well, from what I can tell already...YES you DO have to have it! ;) I heard about it here- where else? , and knew I had to give it a try.
It comes in a little jar like ep does and it's fluffy "stuff" to embellish with. It kind of looks like cotton flakes. Great for bunnies tails and snow and that sort of thing. I had never seen it around here (Southern CA) and so when my DH went to the Mall of America on a business trip recently I had him get me some at Archiver's. Funny thing is, it is from Stampendous and they are located about 20 miles from where I live! Haha, I guess I nned to look for it locally again. This stuff is so fun!!
I actually got mine here because I wanted all the colors (gotta have it all right) and it's like embossing powder where you'll never use the entire container, so I didn't want a TON of each color. It's fabulous!! I made little fuzzy black spiders out of brads! You can make fuzzy pumpkins, white snowballs, fuzzy hearts....all sorts of fun stuff! HTH

What a great idea!! I never thought to put it on anything other than paper.
I don't know how other brands differ. Maybe some of you know if there's a difference. I did not know it came in lots of colors. I just got the white and do love it. I will have to look around to see where (other than Archiver's) I can find it. I'll post if I have any success.
I just went to an online store I have used and been very happy with. They have Fun Flock in 17 awesome colors! Even snow cone blue and tangerine (Tango?!) and lots of other really neat shades! They are only $2.29 each. It's 7 kids college fund, and here's the link:
They ship fast. I was very pleased with my orders. I am sure there may be lots of other places to buy it, but I think I will just order here since their prices seem good and their service is, too. HTH!

You beat me to the draw, Sarah. I was going to suggest 7kidscollegefund too. That's where I got mine too --the Doodlebug smaller bottle assortments for $11.25 http://www.7kidscollegefund.com/category_s/95.htm
One suggestion, I use coffee filters to hold my flock each time I open a little bottle. That way I don't have to try to put the excess flock back into the teeny holes of the bottles.

Great idea, Betty!
Oh, by the way- the "tangerine" is actually called cantalope. But I think it would be cool with tangerine tango. And the blue suede reminds me of Pacific Point. Now that I am loving these colors, I just need to come up with ideas for how to use them, lol!
So Betty- what have you done with them???
